Question for the hive mind ... is it even possible to realistically offer that much content at that price? Look at the core box ... miniatures and buildings (not to mention the cardboard stuff) ...

My own personal view.

-The creators say nothing about themselves other than they are  "professionals".

-No history of having ever produced, well, anything. Not games, not minis.

-Overly ambitious for a first project. Almost a too good to be true deal kind of a feel about it when looking at what other companies have offered on kickstarter recently.

-Canadian based. Other Canadian kickstarters have proven very susceptible to fluctuations in exchange rates and shipping costs.

I'm not saying not to back.

Just saying to be aware of all the possibilities if you do.

I hadn't looked closely at the other pledge items. The terrain bundles seems like a good deal, but not an insanely good deal.

Now that it has been pointed out, I agree that it gives me pause.

I just sent them a message asking for more information about themselves. Click on the creator's name, scroll down, and you'll find their Contact Me button. Send them a message asking for their project management experience and/or link them to this thread!

Looks like the creator answered a question about the house material in a message to a backer: According to a backer post in the comment section, the houses in the basic set are cardboard and in the more expansive rebellion set they are plastic ... another failure at making things clear, making this project look rushed and not as professional as it could be ...But it explains why the dragon expansion in the rebellion set is "free" despite the rebellion set being quite a bit more expensive than the core set - it seems to be the material of the houses.

That's where I am. Big miniatures kickstarters are very hard for companies with extensive experience producing miniatures. They're not easier for companies without that experience.

Yeah the behavior is strange. They comment that they are there to answer questions "ask away" but then say they wont entertain questions. Someone on BGG found the creator's name linked to another company (presumably their day job). The address listed is a private home per Google earth. I feel like I am taking the conspiracy too far, but at the same time I will need some reassurances if I am gonna stay in this.

Ouch...  None of the pictures really seem to show cardboard buildings...

Definitely helps explain that price discrepancy though.

The pictures near the very bottom of the campaign page show the cardboard --- but yeah they should have definitely made it more apparent what was in each pledge level. I'm in for it all for now, but will be watching as you guys uncover more about the mystery bunch running it.

I also have the drake vibe going here. (If it should come to light that anybody named benjamin or benji macdonald is in any way connected to anybody involved with ths project, stay away.) lovely renders,  great idea for a setting, far too ambitious first outing, very optimistic about everything. And a bit nebulous when it comes to who they are and what they have done before. Everybody can be “profesionals” but i would not ask a professional ice cream maker to do the job of a professional neurosurgeon...at least we can see that they are not professional copywriters as the writing in the ks is not good. The campaign presentation seems a bit rushed.

...so if they rush th ks campaign, what confidence does that instill for how the real work will be done?

i see all darsc’s points above and raise with the stated delivery time July 2019. For that to happen; the finished and assembled products (a lot of components here, will probably involve several different factories)  must be on the water before chinese new years in spring time, or at least so close to finished that just packing the containers is more or less left to do. Add to this that As far as I have understood it, even getting a timeslot for production at the few factories that make this sort of thing will involve a fair bit of waiting, even worse for a new customer with uncertain prospects who won’t be entering negotiations until the ks funds. I mean even just production approval usually involves a lot of back and forth. How castable are these renders even?

And for a new company this is exasperated by the factories jacking up quotes when they see how much the ks took in, they are businessmen those factory owners, not fairy godmothers.

Safe to say I for one do not believe this timeframe is realistic. If they had said july 2020...just maybe, but probably not even that.

Also, is the plastic terrain is in the style of plastctaft printed precolours and not moulded?

Anything why you would think that - except them being from Canada and the project being financially ... optimistic?

Some of the sculpts remind me of that games minis; the guy that headed up Drake was in Ontario in 2017 pitching Drake on a local TV show, this company popped up late 2017 on social media; They mention in multiple places they are a publisher of various games, no mention whatsoever of any of those games anywhere...

Honestly, it's more of a needlign thought in the back my brain and wild conjecture, as there really is NO info about these people I can find.
