July Goals!

The year is halfway over! What do you want to achieve this month?

 

Here's my list:

 

- Get blog going again.

- Finish editing photos from last November >.<

- Paint Bones Sphinx (by August 4).

- Figure out how many other projects I have to do (that aren't already on the table) and give them time lines.

- Figure out a giveaway for 1000 followers on IG.

I have a bunch of stuff for this month, actually... 

 

- Six Drow Warriors: five Reaper elves, and a Wyrd miniature. For September, when Waterdeep comes out; I can only assume there'll be some Drow missions, since it's on top of the Drow ancestral city, and is the home of most of the good Drow of Faerun...

- Two Village of Kulhaven Box Sets. Now, most of the figures are painted - these are some of the first sets I painted, in fact - I just need to base them and touch up the many, many chips.

- Five Iron Cobras. Just 'cause. DONE!

-Either my Hobgoblins or my Ogres or my Orcs from KSIII. I'd like to have them all done by Reapercon, just so I can have them out of the way... if I can have one done this month, I'll be satisfied.

- Added! Two Reaper Iron Golems, if I can find them! DONE!

- Added! Finish GW Fenrisian Wolf Pack as large Dire Wolves!

 

And assorted other minis as the urge takes me, of course. I've been looking forward to the Drow, in particular - it's such a great group, and I've been meaning to do some up for a looong time.

Only a few goals this go around... Probably three again. 

 

- Finish the sculpting for Wyrmgear.  I suspect it will be three more sessions.  Two for the wings, one for the spinal area. 

- Additional work on Furiously Fluffy Howling Hounds, at least one preferably two minis.  Just noticeable work.  Finished would be awesome though! 

- Additional work on either my Skaven Warlord, or Ebonwrath.  Bonus points if both get work. ^_^

This month I have some easier goals in mind

  1. Paint the figure of Kalee from my Firefly Adventures game
  2. Paint a Halfling pirate for my friend's D&D character
  3. Paint another Hasslefree figure
  4. Paint this month's Mithril miniature

My 2018 hobby goals include:

  • Running a Dark Conspiracy RPG for my gaming group
  • Running a Frostgrave/Ghost Arch game at Reapercon in September
  • Painting the 10 miniatures from the hasslefree kickstarter
  • Painting the 6 miniatures from the Going Native kickstarter
  • Painting the 5 miniatures from the Bear's Head kickstarter (on track with two)
  • Continue painting the Monthly Mithril Miniatures (On track with seven)
  • Reduce and limit the WIP box (formerly the shelf o' shame) to 6 figures. It currently sits at  >12

Well, after a few bad weeks, my main goal for the month is to paint something (or anything)!

 

I did finish the last figure for a stand of Renaissance troops this morning, and a scruffy ancient Minifig science fiction figure yesterday, so it won’t be a zero month. :rolleyes: (Provided I have time to do their simple base treatments today...)

Dwarves! (4) - will likely move into August 

I have found at least 9 dwarves in the bones 3 core- but that seems a lot to bite off.   

 

really not looking forward to the 20 lizardmen - thats too many scale people.

Halfway through the month. It has been somewhat productive too!

 

-Blog is slowly getting going again.

-Minivember photos and show off are done!

-Finished the Sphinx last night.

-Still trying to figure out how many projects I have lined up.

-Have figured out a giveaway mini! (Bones Frost Giant Queen)

Mid-month update for myself..  It's been a hot summer, so haven't gotten too too much done, but given that I've started a mini for hubby (that's seen decent progress in my eyes), started (and finished!) a drybrushing experiment, prepped, puttied, and primed a Pathfinder Red Dragon (aka he's stealing the one I assembled a while back, lol), and also have done some work on one of the FFHH minis I'm happy with how progress has been. 

 

Definitely looking forward to the upcoming forecasted weather though, because I'd still love to finish Wyrmgear's sculpting, and even have him primed this month!

      Minivember: The Last (2018)

      Minivember is here once again! I know that today is the 5th so I'm going to have to play a little catch up as I was on vacation until yesterday evening. Now I need to get started painting so this will probably be a shorter intro post than previous years. You may ask why the title says "The Last." Well because this is the last year that I am going to be doing Minivember. Next year I'll have a new fun thing but it will be in October instead of November because of how busy this time of year is for me. And I know that the holidays are part of the challenge but it's getting to be too much of a challenge.
       
      This year I'm going to be painting minis from Shadows of Brimstone that I have not yet finished. My goal (like every year) is to paint at least thirty (30) unique minis, one (1) for each day. While I've reached this goal in the past I'm going to push myself a little further this year and try to get all of one type of the mini painted. Some of them have up to six (6) of the same mini. I chose to paint this because I want to play the game again and this is a great time to get it done. While this is not all of the SoB minis that I have to do it is a good chunk of them. 
       
      Anyway, here's this year's calendar and I'll be posting photos as soon as I can.
