Strumpet, Minotaur, elementals, kitty oh my! PIC HEAVY!

Recommended Posts

Nice work. My faves are the air elemental and the use of the base coming up into the whirwind, the gems on the minotaur, and the strumpet's petticoat(?)

Very nice assortment you painted up. They're all lovely, but I've never seen anything like that air elemental. There's a real touch of brilliance to that concept. It's one thing to come up with a great idea, and another thing to pull it off. Major kudos to nailing both! :winkthumbs: I also love the way you highlighted the ice troll. It makes him look a bit furry, even where their isn't any. Beautifully done.

Hello to all you bovine aficionados!

So a while back ago I did a normal minotaur, Greek-type mythological beast with an axe on two legs.   This one is a little different, it's a Shadowrun Minotaur which has a bull's body and a "primate" face.  I think Jim Johnson sculpted it back in the nineties, as usual forgot to check for a date on the bottom.  Pretty straight forwards colors, and it's actually kind of a big and heavy model. Put him on an oval base because there was no way he was going to fit on a normal size circle one:

Anyhoos, hope you guys all enjoy him!

So I think this Minotaur may have been originally sculpted by Julie Guthrie, but likewise it might have been Dennis Mize because it's part of those Ral Partha resculpts that were won't with some of the Citadel miniatures back then.  Anyhoos, fun figure, and didn't take too long to paint. It's my first minotaur, I must admit!

      Anyhows, enjoy!

This was a very fun group to paint.  They also went very fast.  I finished them in January, but just got around to photographing them.
I can't pick a favorite, they all have so much personality.  I tried some OSL on the fire elemental's base.
The camera settings were changed on the solo shots of the air elemental to tone down the white from overpowering.
It ended up kind of dark.
      Enjoy.
