Siri's Dragon Types

So in my own personal mind and private fantasy world, I have 6 dragon species and 2 subspecies that i just slot in with their main species for simplicity sake. I've finally been getting around to working on their designs, and thought I'd share. I'll add the rest as they come along.

But basically my 6 types are: Fire (Subspecies Magma), Water (Subspecies Ice), Earth, Air, Magic, and Tropical.

Each type has their own preferred habitats and attacks. In my world though, there is no 'this dragon is a red fire breathign dragon, therefore it is EVIL!'. Dragons can be good or evil no matter what they're type is, it's not so clear cut and defined as it is in D&D where a dragon's scales depict if it's good or bad. So an adventurer in my world would be wary of any dragon, no matter its color, until they were able to get some information on it to find out if it's friendly or not. Some species are naturally nicer than others, but that doesn't stop there from being evil ones of that type as well.

I started out with a basic mouse-drawn mock up of each one in flight showing their differences, and i'm working on more in-depth pictures of each

here's the most recent version of each dragon located elsewhere in this thread

Spoiler

Not on the continent these guys live on. I have a couple of dragons on a secondary, smaller continent that I don't do as much with, composed of 3 types: The oriental style, a feathered dragon, and wyverns. They're not as well fleshed out just yet

here's the feathered dragon type:

Sure. They're not your classic dragon-like wyverns. This is a really old picture, but the design concept is still the same. I'd probably adjust it a bit when i redo the designs of that continent's species. But they have more mammal like features, a furred chest they can puff up and no scales, instead having either leathery skin or a thin coating of fur. They dwell in a massive swamp that spans a fair portion of the island they live on

here's the simple beginning work on the earth dragon. They're very heavy, armored, and their powerful front wing muscles provides the flapping power while the second pair of wings are more for lift and stability than actually flapping. They still cannot fly for long periods of time due to their large weight

I like varied wing types in dragons.

Any insect type winged dragons in mind? Like butterfly or dragonfly wings.

yes. They live on a tiny island away from everyone else (think Hawaii or Philippines style). They're very small, only about a foot long. Everything on their island is dwarf sized

here's the magic one! I'l go back and refine each profile page of the dragons later, but for now the quick versions are good enough

magic dragons are very rare, and quite powerful. As their name suggests, they are heavily in tune with the natural energies of the world and the ambient magic around htem. They can be any color, some of them can even change the color of their scales at will, but most seem to lie in the purple range. Their breath weapons vary wildly as well, with some having fire, others ice, and even stranger things like a fear-causing black smoke or a blast of raw magic that warps the world wherever (and whoever) it touches for a period of time

Some of the observed types: starry pattern (pictured), or composed entirely of dark shadows and able to disappear into the darkness like a phantom, and even a skeletal one who apparently didn't want to stay dead when he died.
