Man terrain stuff is a lot of work. Most of 1 core set - I left out the doors with moving pieces so I wouldn't lose them-primed/ base coated.

Base was mix of brown, grey, yellow primer with craft brown and grey paint. 90% craft paint.

Then I drybrushed half of them and added dirt (for all) and wood base colors (for same half that was drybrushed).

Somewhere in there is a pic that shows the difference of my "base" color and the untouched piece

Lots done today

Got all drybrushed, some purple glazes into the dirt. Some green, purple, blue glazes on stone. Did the dark wood shadows (had the same colors as in tutorial). Also did a brown wash. Not sure if I'm going to do more than pick out the details now. More work than I think I have time for with another whole box.

And the mine carts.

I think the cat lost one of the columns already. Hopefully it will turn up before the room gets vacuumed.

Out of curiosity I compared my tiles. At some points there's going to be a noticeable difference in height.

Most tiles look like they will be minimally different (though Adventurescapes is maybe `1mm higher?) but it looks like the smaller, mostly "wood" bits will be much lower. I'm not sure that will have much effect but it may need to be planned around.

Here are more comparisons

They’re turning out really great!

I’m painting mine with the Dwarven Forge paints, so it will (hopefully) better match my existing Dwarven Forge cavern pieces.

And there is that same noticable height difference between the DF stuff, and the much lower Tablescapes Mines pieces .

Wow, just saw that my FLGS has Tablescapes stuff for retail... and it ain't cheap. Just the one starter set being 110$+ tax.  I think everything I got would work out to 400$+ which is way more than I paid. But also maybe more, because I didn't have my order handy and I'm guessing.
