Friday, August 24: What's the funniest thing you've seen a kid do?

There aren't many kids in my life so this one is from when we were both kids. My little brother decided to sit on a popcorn tin without the lid on. Predictably, he fell in, butt first and got stuck. He started crying, I started laughing, so Mom came out to see what was wrong. Then the crying and laughing intensified when she turned around, grabbed the camera and took a couple pictures before releasing him from his self made prison. To this day, he is still mad about that.

We have a two year old, so everyday is something new. Hard to pick a moment, but all the parents here will understand what I mean. Kid cracks me up just smiling sometimes. Usually it's the moments where he makes a new unexpected language connection in a funny way that are the funniest. I can't really cite anything, because it's getting to the point where it's almost unremarkable for him to do something that cracks us up.

While I walked my former white boxer dog Balthar I encountered a mother with a stroller.

In it a little kid.

Kid points at my dog and yells Bear Bear!!!

I found that funny.

And kids are brutally honest and unaware of sensitive topics.

My own son, as a toddler...

We took him to a train station in a big city, he had spent his first year and a half in a small town..

And there at the station for the first time he saw someone who wasn't white.

So naturally he yelled as loud as he could.

DAD! That man is black!!!

Embarassing...luckily the guy took it for a good laugh.

Standing in line at Sephora, and behind us is a kid (maybe 8 years old) and presumably his mother. He's being snarky and then loudly goes "well why don't you put it up your butt?!"

Uhh... I'm sure I've seen other funny things from kiddos... but my brain isn't working right now.

a friend brought his daughter along to an auction at a game store. Predictably she got bored. She found a bucket of prepainted star wars minis that someone had left under a game table, and dug out 3 large cat like robots, and a loader droid. then she climbed up on the table and grabbed a pair of ruined buildings and started playing house with her robots. The loader was the baby and the 3 catbots were the parents I think. When her dad noticed and asked what she was doing all she did was hold up the loader droid and say "oh no wobot"

My grandparents (on dad's side) had a Cocker Spaniel named Sabrina. Sabrina was exceedingly spoiled, and would beg at the table.

All of us on that side of the family were gathered for Christmas at their house in Vermont. My cousin was in a high chair, but was old enough to eat solid food on her own. Sabrina, being no dummy, knew exactly where to park herself to get some people food. Except that my cousin wasn't cooperating; she was doing a relatively good job of keeping her mess contained on the high chair, so Sabrina began to get impatient and whine. My cousin was eating a roll at the time, and she began shaking the hand holding the roll up and down and saying 'no, 'Brina, no'.

The poor dog was so confused...

Thursday, August 23: What song or artist do you like but rarely admit to liking? (Taylor Swift, anyone?)

Nothing wrong with Taylor Swift (well, until the last album, anyway) ::P:

I love all sorts of cheesy, rubbish music, and I've been mocked for liking Ed Sheeran. I don't really care, If someone wants to judge me on something as daft as music that's their problem

I do love Little Mix though, that's pretty embarrassing :D

I've got a few, but when one of my nephews was a a year and a half old he really loved pickles. We had some black pickles (not really black) that were the sourest I've ever had (still awesome, and my nephew used to bite the end off and suck the juice right out of it like a briny Mr. Freezie.

If I could Scrooge McDuck it, I'd be all over a pool of money. Otherwise, I'd have to be boring and say water. I really don't like the thought of being covered in anything like chocolate, beer, etc.

Some manner of non sticky water like substance that would grant me the ability to effortlessly convince others to do as I tell them.

Since that is not available currently, I would be willing to jump into a pool of tumbleweed spice for the purposes of a late night infomercial promoting it.

Ouchie! So many tiny shabby bits. And bones aren't much better. I may know that from experience...

Happy New Year and welcome to Getting to Know You, January 2021 Edition!

The rules as they currently stand (in addition to all regular forum rules):

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 10:30am Eastern US Daylight time.
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

Thank you all for playing along as we get to know the real you... tell me, Malcolm Reynolds, are you familiar with the works of Shan Yu?

The first question shall be posted after a brief pause to prevent the merging of posts.
