Bumped my pledge up to $100, which it will probably stay at unless something mind-boggling appears. Already this is triple what I've pledged for any previous CAV Kickstarter.

Awrrr, but there are so many different systems other than BattleTech out there... Heavy Gear (RPG, Tactical, Blitz, and another one), CAV, and probably more.  Saddened to hear they'll only look at one system.

I dunno, some of them might throw their metal BattleMechs back in return if you resort to physically throwing things 

 

On the plus side, with Kickstarter pricing of this it isn't hard to be able to brag to BattleTech players that you can field two armies for the cost of one of their squads, and the sculpts are newer, and more detailed...

My point exactly - PBG need to close. Since it has EST, it wants to use one action locking on. What do you do with the second, move or shoot?

 

MACs and lasers can successfully engage at range. PBG have difficulty doing so.

hoping we get to the aircraft, I'd get a bunch. Same with the other vehicles. I've got enough cavs, [impossibru] but I'm getting a core anyway.

The Gladiator II has a cool redesign.  It looks more like a Butcher now.  I like it when units from the same faction have a similar style, as it looks more like a cohesive fighting force instead of randoms.

 

Also happy to see Ghasts and Vindicators.  I always take those when I play Malvernis as they are fantastic air units.

Keep spreading the word! Here are a few key words of advice for overcoming objections your friends may have! ;)

 

[I don't need more mechs! ] That's just silly...everyone needs more mechs! Seriously though, if you are playing the game already or want to start and nobody is playing around you? What a great intro to get them in.  With all the extras you may have, give some away. With the price point these come in for, bribery is always a strong motivational factor. Sit down at the local store with some for people to paint and keep. Believe me if all I had to do was throw $20-$30 worth of minis to get people to try out my new game fixation, I would be all over it!

 

[Only 32 figures for $100?] Sure to start, but the more people that pledge the more figures that get added to the Core Set. Mechs take up a lot more room on a mold than a standard character fig, but we squeeze every one of them in there we can!

 

[I just want the dropship!] Don't we all! But, we will never get it without covering the stretch goals first...so pledge now and get us there.

 

[I don't play CAV!] No problem. You play BT, then stat these guys up and play there. I would much rather pay $1 or $2 a fig for models (as opposed to $15-$20).

 

[I don't play Mech games] Again, no problem! CAV is 10mm scale so the vehicles. aircraft, and TERRAIN will work in a whole mess of different games!

I haven't played any mech games since BT back in the day but I have been very interested in getting back in and this seemed like a great way to go.

So a couple of changes to bring on the STOMP!

 

GREETINGS ALL!

So we will start this update off with a bit of a mea culpa. We plan these thing over and over and think we have it all figured out but alas, sometimes it just doesn't line up as intended. We always build in a little extra here and there to help with these unknown factors. So, since we have a lower backer count at the moment then we had accounted for, I can cut some back to help with these first levels (and boost the base Core Rewards) to will help the excitement level! See I do listen! :)

So on to the rest of the cool things! First off, lets add some new models to the Core Set right now! Reinforcements incoming!!!

 

The Warhawk is a design the Templars "borrowed" from the Terrans and updated the weapon load-out with better guns and missiles. Since it shares the same chassis as the Starhawk V, we are adding a weapons sprue so you can build either model type!

The Malvern Obake is an all-new design for a kick-broccoli fire support model!

Let's keep it going by going ahead and opening up the paint sets. You know we are going to do them anyway, so let's DO IT!!!

As noted the stretch goals after $38k have been lowered a bit and since we have opened up the paint, we will throw a couple of new models into the mix...time to go muddin' with the Templar Mamba (new design) and the Malvern Nomad!

So, how's that for an update? A whole LOT OF STOMP for sure! And for those wondering about the dropship...its the very last thing we will roll towards the end of the campaign and will be added as a $75 REWARD OPTION, provided that the Stretch Goal for it is reached when offered. So yes it's coming...but all in good time!

This is awesome! I am so psyched about the recent changes! Hopefully we can really pick up steam and blow these stretch goals out of the sky to get to that big Dropship and 7-day Goblin Challenge for CAV. Everyone keep spreading the word!

 

on a slightly off-topic question, will the CAV paints from the original Reaper MSP line be re-branded to "CAVcolors" at some point? (Terran Khaki, Rach Red, Adonese Green, Malvernian Purple) or are they staying MSP? Seems odd to have the mix n' match of "Official" colors... I know its not part of the Kickstarter but as CAV expands its "paint line" with 24+ unique colors after this kickstarter fulfills and a Learn to paint kit forthcoming, just makes me wonder if the learn to paint kit and existing MSP colors will also be CAV labeled.

I don't play Templar or merc and have no plans to start...but I think I NEED those Mambas. I just have no idea what I'll be doing with them!

 

Aside from the Wrongart hover and maybe the DropShip, those are the first things that have caught my interest in this run.

Was teased at Reapercon (well, it was on the product list) but was not available yet, @CAVBOSS mentioned it should be available next year sometime during one of the youtube chats but would not be included in the Kickstarter.

 

A little birdy told me that the awesome painter helping to put it together is doing a "Savage" job...
