Recommended Posts

The mold shots came in and have been approved, so they are now moving to full production. There will be an update next week due to NashCon and CAV-CON here at the end of August.

Thank you Boss!

You are welcome! I would say its pretty safe to say that any quads we do wont fit on the standard 30mm base we include with most figures.

So, out of curiosity I have to ask...

- Do we know when we'll be seeing our shipping costs?

- Will Canadian orders be shipped via CanadaPost, or courier?

We will be finishing up shipping invoices by the end of the week so hang in there. We are still trying to get orders locked in.

The plan is to ship them to Buffalo, NY and then for our Canadian shipper to pick up and bring back across the border to ship, so I'm going to assume they will use Canada Post. That's the plan for now anyway.

Okay, good to know.  Surprising that there are still people who haven't locked orders in o_O

If it's the same company that handles the store orders, it'll probably be CanadaPost.  I just wanted to make sure, since I currently have my FlexDelivery address in there, and UPS can't deliver to those since it's an internal CanadaPost thing.  It's a way of being nice to your local delivery driver if you know you won't be home when they swing by - that and you get the packages a day earlier, because they're sent directly to your local post office, and you get an email notification, which is really handy because you can pick it up on the way home from work ^_^

I think the other reason why I'm wanting to pay my shipping is so that it's paid for, and I don't have to worry about accidentally sending the cash over to a different stompy robot Kickstarter by accident.

I also swear it has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to be responsible, but at the same time going "I want to order a bunch of things from various companies!"

Huh. Looks like I was one of the people that didn't fill out the pledge manager, according to the email I just got. That's incredibly not like me. But it did say that there had been some issues with software, and thus brain tells me that I'm likely just one of the victims. Fair enough. Not my fault.

So I'm filling out the pdf version of the pledge manager based on what I had on my spreadsheet tracker, and I wind up with $25 credit left. That's really weird. Go over things again. Yeah, I listed everything that I put into the "pledge manager" column on the spreadsheet of mine, but still keep coming up short from my full pledge. Brain tells me that I perhaps added shipping, but that amount doesn't seem right. Brain tells me that I perhaps wanted some pad at the end of the KS for the next unlocked figure, but with only one unlock remaining, that should have been $5 not $25. Brain suggests maybe I wanted an aircraft and another CAV add-on. But I was pretty sure I was passing on the aircraft.

Brain confused.

Finally found that there were 5 add-ons that I hadn't put a quantity into the "pledge manager" column that I was using to transfer to the pdf. I used that column to mark what I had put into the PM. Huh. I guess I had to stop midway through for some reason and never got back into the PM!

Brain was wrong.

Stupid brain.

Now I'm very curious as to what in the world I was doing at the time. Eh. PDF-PM complete now at least.

Getting ready to hit Fighting Piranha Graphics again for decals. Thankfully I have tons of usable Templar decals from 40K, now to figure out what I need for the Malvernis to go with the Sea Fox for BT.

      About
Welcome to our latest Kickstarter release: Wood Elves
A collection of wood elf miniatures that will continue to grow after the completion of this project. So let us know what else you want to see. We may even squeeze a few more miniatures into this campaign!

Artist (Dan Jack): "This was quite an exciting project to work on.  I have always pictured wood elves to be more feral and slightly darker than modern interpretations. The horns for me, are a way of depicting an elder, in an otherwise young looking race. As the elves become more integrated with the forest, they start to develop horns, which are seen as a nod to their stature with in the force. You will see some of the leaders with horns. This in turn, is a foundation we will be building into the narrative of our game. The death of an elf works in both directions. As they come closer to death and old age, you shall see a more warped by the forest aesthetic. I am looking forward to pushing this further with characters in the expansion of this range, as well as more young'uns."
Please note that the items that are shown in black are a guaranteed addition to box sets. They will be revealed as stretch goals to generate excitement!

      Shipping Date:  APRIL 2020
If you don't want the full box set, you can build your own custom order, by adding up the value of the items you want, and then pledge that amount in the 'build you own pledge' reward. You will get to pick and choose what you want in the pledge manager using your credit.

So this is my year in review.  It was a strange year, what with working from home since early March.  I initially thought that would mean I'd paint more, but after spending 8+ hours every day sitting 3 feet from my painting desk but working, it really didn't work out that way. Eventually I was able to get some stuff painted so things are working better now.
At the start of the year I decided I wanted to not just pick up some random Star Wars Legion stuff to paint, but to actually play the game.  Unfortunately everything shut down before I could watch a game at the LFGS.
After I got enough prepped at home, my very patient and understanding wife agreed to play some small games so I could sort out the rules.  It must be reasonably fun for her, we just played a game on Monday....
Eventually the store opened up for play again and I got in about a half dozen games before the latest wave hit and put a stop to that.  If all goes well we should be back to playing in a couple weeks.

      As far as painting:

That was my output for the year.  I count it as 52 figures (51 bases but the e-Web has two Snowtroopers on the base.....). Not bad at all for me, especially considering it took me two months to paint the first unit of Stormtroopers and I had a big slump during the hot part of the summer where my output was nil.
As you can probably tell, I play Imperials. And, because I'm using the premium bases and painting them, I can only field what I've painted.  So I've been pushing on painting Imperials.  The only rebel unit I've painted is the Rebel Veterans.  The LFGS rain a painting contest online during the shutdown and I figured painting yet more white and black wasn't going to impress....

      Here is the breakdown:
      Rebels:
      1 box of Rebel Veterans

      Imperials
      2 units of Stromtroopers
      1 unit of Scout Troopers
      2 units of Snowtroopers
      1 e-WEB heavy blaster team
      2 units of Speederbikes
Darth Vader (the starter box edition)
      General Veers
and the Imperial Officer and FX-9 Medical Droid from the Imperial Specialists Personnel Expansion.

Looking forward to 2021 I still have a lot of Imperials left to paint. Luckily most are assembled, some are primed and a number of Stormtroopers already have a wash and drybrush done.
This is good because I got the Clone Wars starter for Christmas (awesome wife strikes again!) so I'll be starting to assemble Droids soon....
