CAV: Strike Ops III Kickstarter September 19th 2018

Recommended Posts

I'd like to thank @CAVBOSS and RAFM for the quick turnaround to get my package back out after Canada Post finally got it back to Ontario.

It appears to be moving much quicker this time and showed up as in town this morning (they were estimating this Thursday). With any luck (I'm due, right?)  they will try to deliver it today.  This will presumably fail, since I'm at work and my wife is out of town, but it should go to the post office for pick up after that, so I might be able to get it tonight, or more likely tomorrow.

Glad to hear it's in the right town now!

...Which reminds me, I need to send that email in that I keep totally forgetting to send in.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting several of these on the paint table - yup, even those feisty Templar!

I also suspect this is where some of us will start trying to get details out of CAVBOSS for when the dropship Kickstarter will be happening (and if the resin minis will be available for a while) - I want to make sure I've enough money to get in on that ^_^ dropship over pirate ship I say! (besides, I have until at least the end of August to get the pirate ship)

I have a large box!

Sadly, I also have dishes I need to do before opening the large box.  Sigh.  Stupid adulting.....

Adulting sucks.  Open box now and see things in said box. They deserve to take over the dining room table! ^_^

Oddly enough, they did (I don't have enough free surface in my paint room to sort all that) .  Tanks and CAVs all sorted and tallied. Only one missing piece, and one extra Obake so far.

Planes, paint and so so much terrain will have to wait for tomorrow...er, later today....

Only real thing I had is one Obake was missing one of the long arm thingies that goes above the cockpit.  I really should email CAVBoss about that *laughs nervously* I'll get the email written soon - won't be tonight, I can barely keep my head up, so it's time for bed..

By any chance, it wouldn't have dropped inside the larger bag by any chance?

One of my smaller baggies had opened and for a moment I thought I was also missing an arm until I found it in the bottom of the larger bag.

I'll look when I get home, but I don't remember seeing anything loose.

Inventory complete.

Just the one missing piece. An extra Obake and an extra sprue of K-Rails.

Amazingly, considering the odyssey my package went on with Canada Post, my paints all seemed fine with a quick test. None separated or go super thick, all seemed to cover a test fig. A few seem more transparent than others but I'm assuming that is just how they are.

Tshirt looks like it will fit, dog tags are cool, patch is awesome, sticker is so nice I placed an order back a while ago to snag an extra. One will be going on my marshaling bucket (other folks have ferrari and mcclaren stickers, mine has bombshell babes and dropships...).

Excellent job @CAVBOSS.  I'm ready for my Dropship(s) now ::D:

What do plans for CAV IV: Flesh out the factions look like at the current time?

Not sure yet. Obviously the current state of things has really messed with our schedule this year. Two steps forward and one step back kinda thing!

Is the dropship still a planned thing for in the future?

Huzzah!

I am also curious about the dropship!

To be perfectly honest, I'm curious not because I have anything I can do with it, but because the back of my mind refuses to let go of the possibility of attempting a 7-day challenge with it....

The challenge is 30 minis in 30 days (not necessarily 1 mini each day.) I've been prepping a few figures each week since August, and this year's theme is Science Fiction:

      Team Terminator:

      XairBot (Small) 49012
      XairBot (Medium) 49013
      CyberReavers I (2) 50354
      CyberReavers II (2) 50355
      CyberReaver 845
      Enforcer 847

      Team Survivor:

      HESCO barriers (2)
      Starship Generator 80053
      Tess, Adventuring Heroine 49020
      Slade, Cyborg Hero 49018
      Nova Corp:Female 80013
      Nova Corp:Soldier 80012

      Terrain:

      Gothic Tank Traps/objective markers (2)
      3d printed scatter terrain
      Crates (Large and Small)(2) 77248
      Jersey Barriers (2)

      More Stuff:

      IMEF: Reggie Van Zandt 80017
      Viceroy Enforcers (3) 30029
      Starship Generator 80053 #2

      Obligatory Fantasy:

      Cats&Catacombs
      Dreadmere wight 44022
      Benedict Baker
      dark elf w/bow 1128
      Liriel Silverlocks 2458
      DGS games female

Not shown: Blood Nebula Mercenary 49017, Power Generator 72611 (2)-- still in blister packs.

That gets me to 30-ish, depending on whether I count things like the barriers and crates as single pieces or not.  Still working on getting the last few pieces washed and primed and identified.

I went with saturated colors on this one.  Enough of the black and brown, this Sascha is from a dimension where the future's so bright you gotta wear shades.

Black on black, your standard sci-fi street-runner.  Gave his coat a touch of purple just to give the eye something to look at.

Painted this guy waaay back in April.  Been a while since I did any show off threads...  Anyway, had fun making his carapace look shiny.  This was also a special needs Bathalian, coming to me with a missing tentacle. I was able to carve one out of some leftover sprue that I keep on hand for such emergencies.

I'm looking forward to painting his friends.

Hi, we're Crow Land Publishing, and here's our first book, Wickerpunk. A supplement book for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, with application for all fantasy and horror games, such as Pathfinder, Call Of Cthulhu and even superhero games, like Champions. It will be 275 pages.
Folk horror – horror and supernatural fiction that relies on elements of the past, folklore, superstition, the dreadful majesty of nature, the darkest urges of old religion. And old gods. Where the landscape itself is a symbol of fear and dark majesty.

Heroic fantasy – a dream of blades and magic, a dream of defiance of the dark powers of the world, where we can be our truest ideals of our self.

And when these genres collide – we have Wickerpunk.  A genre in which the ancient and natural world of the Wyld meets the imperialist world of Industry.
If you like film such as Gawain and the Green Knight, Dragonslayer and The VVitch, you'll like our book.
If you like games such as Maiden of Sker, Greedfall, and Hellblade, you’ll like our book.

If you like anime such as Princess Mononoke, The Ancient Magus’ Bride and Faery Gone, you’ll like our book.
If you like TV shows such as The Witcher, Game of Thrones, (especially the White Walkers stuff!) and the classic 1980s Robin of Sherwood, you’ll like our book.
If you like novels such as The Mists of Avalon, The Dark Is Rising and The Broken Sword, you’ll like our book.
Wickerpunk is a sourcebook that instructs GMs and players alike on what wickerpunk looks like in a game of D&D or any fantasy roleplaying game.
