My girlfriend's been fascinated by Antarctic exploration for a few months so when I saw that Reaper make an Antarctic Explorer figure, I had to get it and paint it for her. Here he is photographed in front of a porcelain iceberg she picked up at an art exhibit. She was really happy that I'd painted it for her but it took her about 30 seconds to say, "Isn't that the main guy from that Thing movie??"...

No! That's not the guy from the thing!

I couldn't believe it in the first place, but now there's no way not to see it! Don't deny it, Reaper! It's too obvious! Lumberjack beard, stylish leather jacket and those great sun glasses! That figure is clearly inspired by my return to Germany from Japan in last December. 7 weeks of not shaving ... yeah. Groovy.

Great paintjob! Really like the guy! Especially the fur inlets of his jacket a well done! Thanks for sharing!

I really like that figure and I wish Reaper had several different Artic Explorers to go with it.

You did a fabulous job painting that figure!

Thanks! It is definitely MacReady... if I had the slightest idea of how to convert a figure I'd try making a sombrero for him!

Can't link for obvious reasons, and they're in the UK, but EMP Miniatures do a set of Arctic Explorers if you're looking to expand the group

I just had a look and those figures are awesome. Thanks so much! I'm visiting my family in England at the end of August so I'll order some when I'm over there.

It's that time of year for Orcs...but I already did that.  So it's time to get spooky instead!

Hello everyone, here are more pictures of my entry in the 18th Quarterly Contest. This is 77704, Cave Troll sculpted by Bobby Jackson. Congrats to the winners and everyone who participated. A big thank you to Reaper for organizing this colorful contest and 54 times thank you to those who voted for my creature.

I finished some townsfolk recently, they snuck into the queue ahead of my halfpainted drow squad. 😮

Here are 2 Bones 3 ogres I finished in the last few months, Reaper Ogre Matriarch (SKU 77568) and Ogre Chieftain (SKU 77566) . The detail on the goblin was very soft, and my painting progress stopped for a couple of months.  But now they are finally ready for some tabletop fun.

This is the Reaper Bones Familiar from the Stone and Familiar set (SKU 77390).  He will be an important bard NPC in a Savage World game I am hoping to run sometime soon.
