So guys - if I don't register for any classes - will I have enough to do?

I'd say so. Here's a brief list of some of the things available to do besides classes:

-Chat with the artists on Artist Alley. I'd recommend this anyways, since you can often end up getting a mini-class all to yourself this way. If you're nervous, try writing down a couple of questions before you head over there so you'll aleady have something to talk about.

-Reaper factory tour

-Poking around in the bits bins at the factory (I'd recommend doing this separate from the tour, unless you get a ride other than the shuttle over there)

-Browsing the vendor booths

-Board games

-Digging through the melt table

-(possibly) coloring, though I don't recall who brought coloring stuff before, it was a forum member I think

-Bring your own paint stuff and paint at a table with or near other folks. If luggage space is a concern, there always seems to be someone willing to lend paint or glue or an exacto knife. I'd strongly suggest bringing your own brushes, though

-General chatting/hanging out with folks (or nearby). Bear in mind that lots of us are of the more introverted persuasion (even those that have gotten pretty good at pretending they aren't :upside:), and so it's very common for any group or conversation to have several people quietly participating just by being in the vicinity. ^_^

-Eating food is a thing too I guess lol

-There were a couple pinball machines last year, so those could be a possibility

-Lots of various tabletop RPG games, like D&D and Pathfinder

-Last year James Wappel had a booth (Fort Wappel) set up and happily chatted away to anyone who wanted to listen about painting or terrain or airbrushes or paint or anything at all, really. I lost almost 2 hours one day just because I happened to be walking past and ended up getting drawn over to a demo he was giving (I've nicknamed this phenomenon "getting Wappeled"). Hopefully he'll be here again this year

-Ludo's Painting Shenanigans Corner, where you can either participate in (or spectate at) such ridiculously awesome events as Sophie Says, Paint by Die Roll, and Survival Speedpainting. There's a schedule posted up nearby, and it's usually pretty busy

I'm sure I'm forgetting things but that's what I can come up with off the top of my head.

So really there's lots of stuff to do that isn't classes! ^_^ I mean classes are awesome too, but a couple of times in past years I found myself wishing I'd left more time for non-class stuff since it can be so easy to lose track of time having fun. I hope this helps!

Depends on what you like.  Rpg?  There are those who just go to play games.  Adventure League and PFS run practically non-stop.  Vendors and shop tour; I spent at least 6 hours between them all.  The melt table can take up a bunch of time as well, depending on the selection.  Add in the paint and takes, speed painting and Sophie says.  Plus hanging out with the rest of us forumites.  Collecting ribbons.talking to artists.  And just because you dont get a class doesnt mean you wont learn something new.  I saw plenty of informal classes at the painting tables.

And ninja'd by OneBoot.  But I specifically am only taking two classes this year so that I dont miss out on all of the other things at the con.

No, no you’re... wait.

Okay. Your half my list.  But not on purpose!

So... I guess to redeem my fanboy status I’ll have to enter another unassuming sculpt of yours into the painting competition. Can’t do another fireplace. Which Bones KS did you sculpt a rock for? Maybe I’ll put that in.

He did the purple portal in Bones 4.

Spoiler

Dungeon Decor: Stalagmites

or

Crates (Large and Small)(2)

That small crate is about as unassuming as it gets. In fact, it is so unassuming that they covered it with the Bones logo.

No, I can't find faction choices anywhere on Growtix, the Reapercon site (which is nearly devoid of con information) or in the email.   But you can change/choose when you pick up your badge.   And choosing a side doesn't stop you from giving points to another faction if you want.

Are you River Widows?  Because if you are, if we had ranks* this suggestion would get you promoted.  River Widows accept all forms of treachery - so if you join another faction because of friends, or the ribbon, or you want the figure but you vote River Widows then we will consider you One Of Us!  And also you get to be a secret agent - which is not only very cool but comes with sneaky music.

* In the absence of an actual rank system, feel free to make your own.  Some suggestions are:

General Disorder

Major Fun

Captain Underpants

Corporal Punishment

Lootenant Dan

And you can always say that you're supporting River Widows, collect the donuts that they offer, but get a real figure from a different faction and put all your stickers on Duskwardens, where they belong.

Which satisfies all the published requirements of both organizations.

Are you betraying me?  I'm so torn!  I like you, Doug, I really do.  Don't make me send you out into the roadrunner parking lot of doom!  Please consider becoming a member of the One True Faction, River Widows, Undefeated Con Champions and spare us both this unimaginable anguish!

If things have continued as they did in 2017, you might have to dislodge @buglips*the*goblin from one of the pinball machines to get access. :poke:

Otherwise, OneBoot's list is a good one. The first few times I went to ReaperCon I went pretty crazy with classes (which, for me, was 6-7 per year). In more recent years, I have been prioritizing open painting, talking to artists, and general socializing much more. I have registered for four classes for 2019, and I'm happy with that. If I am feeling ambitions, I *might* go for a fifth, but I'll have to think hard on it. It would be a significant increase over my last time at ReaperCon.

never fear, Buglips, for I am always a River Widows supporter. They have fish and water monsters

Oh dear! Now I’ve got choices! I’m assuming the smaller crate only, and not the larger one. I see a lost box in a dark cavern, almost forgotten. Hmm.

After re-reading your list, I'm almost glad I couldn't get into all of my desired classes. I remember missing several activities in past years because of class/game schedule conflicts.

[Goes in and cancels classes for sparkly metallic paints. Who needs that, really?]
