So... who's ready for ReaperCon 2019?

Well. It, uh... now appears that we're going to be moving in a month. This is a very good thing (we've been wanting to rent a house for awhile, and an opportunity came up much sooner than expected); however, this will drive a whole team of carthorses through my painting plans.

I'm going to have prioritize getting my class materials and examples done first; everything else is gonna have to be gravy. This means that my Space Kraken is not likely to make it this year either.

EDIT: I should clarify, I'm still absolutely coming! I just won't be able to work on an epic contest piece or 3 like I'd been planning on. The Kraken was going to be my piece last year, but time ran out on me. It looks like it'll have to wait another year....

Huzzah!

Being a creative introvert and a procrastinator is not an ideal combination.

I have so many project ideas for ReaperCon that I have to plan in which order I will *not* do any them until it's too late. So I'll probably show up with nothing.

8 weeks until RCon! :winkthumbs:

I... Should probably get my flights booked...

"One of us!"  ::P:

Seriously, though, I've been thinking I should scope out flights as well.  And hubby got as far as priming something he was thinking of bringing.  Just too much stuff going on right now, family vacation to Victoria is next week so that requires preparation more urgently!

Remember kids: "As long as you have something partly-done on your shelf of shame, you can always say you've started!"

I'm still working on my magic formula for finishing anything.

And since cleaning mold lines and priming are necessary steps toward finishing a figure, they constitute starting.

For that matter, you have to buy the figure before you can finish it, so ....

I have 2 of 4 done and should have the other 2 done by next week.  I'm supposed to be the lazy one, you're all making me look bad!

Goblins are supposed to be lazy? I thought they got into nearly everything?

Or is that gremlins I’m thinking of?

Would it make you feel better if I told you that you made me buy a skeleton drummer.

I've even opened the blister!

I have never had enough energy to get into machinery and mangle it.  I have, however, occassionally ridden on airliner wings and scared passengers by peeping in windows.

That's halfway there!  The first step is buying it, the second is opening it, the third is painting it, and then...

hmm

I guess there's only three steps.  So... TWO-THIRDS done!

Okay, so that diorama I started... 2? 3? years ago? I dug that out and poked it a bit...

And bought my tickets! I now have flights! Unfortunately Monday morning is STUPID early. Which means leaving the hotel at a truly ungodly hour. 6am flight out of Love Field. :zombie: Maybe I just won't go to sleep on Sunday night...

Mine too! I think it'll be worth it to mention it on the ride sharing thread.

I think there's enough of us to start a red-eye express painting event. Sunday after hours, don't really go to bed, luggage is packed and waiting. Paint one of your new miniature acquisitions in the hotel lobby with whatever you have. Fatigue, groaning and soreness is expected. Cursing the airlines for such early flights is encouraged.

I mean I did paint a mini on the way to ReaperCon last year and enter it into the MSP Open. (Don't worry, @CitizenCane was driving)
