Mine too! I think it'll be worth it to mention it on the ride sharing thread.

I think there's enough of us to start a red-eye express painting event. Sunday after hours, don't really go to bed, luggage is packed and waiting. Paint one of your new miniature acquisitions in the hotel lobby with whatever you have. Fatigue, groaning and soreness is expected. Cursing the airlines for such early flights is encouraged.

Sounds like a plan!

Sounds like fun but I will be missing.  I'm driving home after the farewell dinner

I think I will be ready for ReaperCon, but I messed up a little bit on what to submit to the MSP Open.

It all started when I offered to paint the mini of another player in my weekly D&D game in my quest to eliminate monochrome minis. I don't charge a penny, but just do it for fun/practice/and maybe to sucker introduce others into the painting hobby. The problem is this mini is really coming out nicely (I might have jinxed my self on the remaining parts) and am leary in making sure I get it back in time and competition condition just before the con. It is certainly my top contender to submit to the MSP Open.

The good news is I own this mini already as I just happened to have the same model he is using in game. So he's not ever out of a mini and I'm not holding anything "hostage" ::D: I will likely just buy another mini and paint it again so I can make good on all accounts.

Take the unpainted one that you have, give it a quick tabletop job, then hand that one to the player. Keep the nicer competitive painted version for yourself.

Or, finish painting both to your best ability and keep whichever one you did the better job on.

I'm suddenly today very tempted to try to dig out my old 'reverse dungeon' for AD&D 2nd edition.  Problem is I'd be teaching the system to everyone too so it might not be practical for a gaming session....

Not 'everyone'.:poke:

what's a reverse dungeon? Do you get to be monsters trying to defeat invading heroes? that'd be fun

Splitting hairs, but I am painting the one I own with the premise that when done I'd swap it out with his bare one. But if this medals I'm not sure how I'd feel about parting with it. So the risk is showing the current one as WIP and then deciding to give him the quick "table top" version later. So I'll just buy another one and paint it again. Won't be the first time I've painted the same thing twice (essentially)

Ah. Logistics problem. It’s not splitting hairs if you aren’t in possession of both.

You might not have to teach everyone. I still remember 2nd ed. and reverse dungeon was way cool
