We leave today after work. Stuff is packed. We'll come home, swap into comfy driving clothes, feed the cats, and set out.  Just had an outrageously stressful phone call with a subordinate here at work, I'm ready to check out for a few days.

Aaahhh!!  At the dentist now to fix my broken crown (terrible timing), window installers are coming tomorrow to put in three new windows and I'm not packed.  Time to let go of getting my planned entry done.

On the plus side, my painting fingers are at least warmed up for classes.  Hubby is keen to have a vacation and get away, so it will all be good.  Only downside is that we don't leave until Thursday.

Something along those lines has been there as long as I've been flying - TSA has to check every single bag by hand that goes checked - so it takes some time.

Ditto what she said. Most big airports I've known were around 45-60 minutes. You have to consider time to inspect baggage and handling time to carry and load them on the plane itself (it's not a very quick process).

I've only known of smaller airports, or charter flights that can accommodate shorter times.

Ours is a small regional airport, but this is the first time it's come up. I think the problem came from both MrBoot and I getting used to HIS travel schedules, which always require just a carry-on, so he can roll in at 45 til with plenty of time. He also got the TSA pre-screening thingy which speeds everything up even more. I'm out of practice after not having flown myself since last year! Will definitely plan better next time, I got lax.

Greetings from Denver! Second flight has been delayed an hour due to thunderstorms throwing tantrums around Central Texas, should be an exciting flight in.

I don't mind the delay, though; it meant not only did I not have to sprint across the entirety of the Denver airport, but also gave me a chance to nab some noms.

Current status: eating a hot dog wrapped in a pretzel and topped with cheese. Can't complain! ^_^

Huzzah!

Report from Denton:

At breakfast after a o-so nights rest.  Nerves and time change making it difficult to get uninterupted sleep.

For Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs with Salsa, a stack of Applewood Bacon, Sliced Breakfast Potatoes, O.J. and strong Black Tea.

The Hotels Hot Breakfast is just as good as I remember from last year.

GEM

This is one of my favorite things and one of the things I'm looking forward to the most... besides the con lol

My cat wants to come, too, but she takes up the whole suitcase, so no.  Got to throw a few more clean shirts in, and pack up the paint kit.  Anyone else finding mold lines on their entry today?  Ugh.

I don't wanna talk about it

I encountered a wild Gene Van Horne in line to board the plane! He recognized me! :wow:

I thought you’d be in the air about now. (?)

Does anyone know what special figure they're giving away for staying at the Embassy Suites? I don't remember if it got posted here.

They showed it in RL number 42 or 43 or so.  I'll see if I can find it.

Sorry, was episode 40.  Here's the green in this thread:
