I don't know if it was mentioned, but since it is important to know:

DO NOT FORGET YOUR ROOM KEY, YOU NEED IT TO ACTIVATE THE ELEVATOR FOR FLOORS 3 AND UP

Some people might forget because they're only going downstairs for a minute and somebody is staying behind in the room.  This is a new change from last year.

I'm ready.  Okay, I'm going to say it publicly... I am coming to Reapercon.  This will be my fourth attempt to go, but this time it looks like I will make it.  Twice before I had plane tickets, but ended up deploying and didn't make it to the con.  A third time (last year) I had a plane ticket, VIP ticket and paid for classes, but my wife got ill so I cancelled.  This time, fingers crossed, I will be there.  I see no hurricanes on the horizon, the rest of my family is traveling somewhere else already,  and I'm retired, so no last minute calls to go somewhere else.  I'm stoked, to say the least.  I'm flying out in a couple of hours, and will be at the hotel tonight!

We got out last night later than I expected but traffic cooperated and we made it to our overnight hotel. It's been a cruddy week (Mrs. Zoxe got declined for a promotion, my job imploded, and we had to call the plumber on Monday night due to a water pipe spraying in the crawl space, for a little while our trip was in doubt.)

Because of all that, I didn't set an alarm this morning and we're on vacation time! Means we may not make pizza tonight but we'll show up eventually!

About to go down for hotel lobby breakfast and wish I were already atbthe Embassys spread. ::D:

I've been awake since 4am. Stupid insomnia.  Tea is made, breakfast is ready. Stuff is packed... oops, forgot the bag of melt!  May not be there in time for pizza, no matter.

Happy trails everyone.  See you at the con.

I have been awake since 4am, cause had to take husband to the airport. He gets suckier flight options cause this whole hub spoke system, few airlines out of NYC wanna go to Louisville. Weird.

If you see one, stop in at a Buc-ee's.  We did and it is indescribably amazing.  I don't buy souvenirs and tourist crap, but I *had* to get a Buc-ee's hat to commemorate the visit.

It's the Super Heaven of gas stop places.  IT IS AMAZING.

There's one near HQ now, on 35 E

It got better once we had the minis in the car! ::D:

On the road now, I'm navigating. Weather is better than last year!! We spent 4 hours driving in a washing machine across Missouri.
