XCase Enhanced and Insert - Active Minds Games

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone, first let me say thanks to all the great people who visited us at ReaperCon. You guys definitely made it our best Con yet. We sold out for the 3rd Straight year. We always love coming to ReaperCon!

Now it is time for us try again to restock and continue to make the best storage and display solution for miniatures on the Market, No Foam required. Our latest Kickstarter has launched, and this version of the Clear XCase will be better, stronger, faster...OK, maybe not faster, but definitely better and stronger. These units are able to withstand pretty much any normal usage scenario that you might throw at them, for, what should be, years to come.  Also, you will have a chance to get your hands on the first wave of organizational inserts we plan to offer for the XCase. The shelf and tray inserts that are add-ons will allow you to display your miniatures even more prominently during travel or will hold your dice, tokens, cards or whatever components your game has... except the board.

This is a relaunch as our September campaign came up short. We did quite a bit of marketing this time and we are doing better but we could still use your backing I hope you will come check it out.

I like the cases as well. They stand up to abuse. I sent my case packed in the luggage and through the TSA hands. Arrived back home wiwitwiwith no cracks or dents. I know for this project,  they are making the plastic sturdier for the clear versions.

Won’t be backing this because of their use of Fedex for shipping to Canada.

Backed the previous Kickstarter and Fedex charged handling fees that were more than the customs fees they “collected”. The extra charges ended up being as much as I pledge for the kickstarter itself.

I order a lot of hobby/miniature things from the States and know had it been sent through US Postal Service and Canada Post there’s a good chance I wouldn’t have been charged customs fees and even if I had the handling fees wouldn’t have been anywhere near that high.

I have 2 clear cases from the last kickstarter. I hung them on my wall over my paint racks to hold WIP minis. They've been ideal for that. They hold most human sized minis mounted to corks or wooden candle holders. Are these the same dimensions as the ones from last time?

Yes, exact same dimension only much stronger material with some small feature improvements that may only be noticeable comparing units closely.

I'm definitely picking up something from this kickstarter, was very impressed with the cases I got from the last one :) The company are good at keeping you updated as well.

You are not the first person to bring this up and we feel your pain. We hate the cost of shipping and we will definitely be looking into USPS this time around we were not aware that they handled that sort of thing differently. We just wanted to offer the lowest base price. We are also in talks with some fulfillment services to see about using their services to lower costs to Canada.

What do you think of this Cool Variant. Talked to Reaper and we are going to make a branded unit if our Kickstarter Funds. This is just a mock up though so the image won't likely look exactly like this or even for sure be placed on the back of the unit but we will make it look good, where ever it ends up. These will be Kickstarter and Reaper/Event Exclusives. So be sure to check out campaign if you are interested.

Going clear with the Reaper logo makes me want to check and see what a stack of these would look like in a Detolf Case from Ikea...

Minis would probably look fine in one of those though it will probably take up more room space and be hard to transport your minis in it. :-)

The Reaper logo is just an optional (special event) unit, not required, same with the color. Most seem to like the clear units more than the others (produced 3 times as many clear in the original materials and sold out of all but a few) but we do carry the opaque units still and if we fund we will have more of the non branded clear as well.

This Kickstarter just launched for double-sided magnetic dungeon tiles. Similar to Ettinstone tiles, and aside from appearing to be a bit thinner, I can’t see why these wouldn’t work with Ettinstone tiles (I certainly plan to use them that way).

I didn't see this KS listed after a quick search.  I like the painters, and I like HD, but there's just so much free stuff out there now...

      Story
Fallen Knight is a classic cooperative dungeon-crawler set in an outlandish dark fantasy world. Players take on the role of death knights, lost warriors who devour the memories of the dead for their silent gods. Once consumed, these long-forgotten memories can be used to unlock powerful, forsaken abilities. Alongside their mechanical advantages, these memories will be showcased in a beautifully realized artistic comic, revealing new insights into these dark lands..  Through a combination of its foreboding themes, exciting game mechanics, and unique artistic vision, Fallen Knight occupies an innovative space within the board game hobby, and we're so excited for you to be a part of it!

Story The Fallen Knights were created by the Gods with the sole purpose of acquiring and reliving lost memories, to better satiate the Gods' voyeuristic appetites. Like dogs on a leash, the Knights were bound by oath to track and consume specific memories, as demanded by their greedy masters. These lost memories -- once consumed -- would offer the Knights a rare, tender glimpse of life. Yet it was fleeting; when returned, they were reduced once more to lifeless husks by their hideous lords. And so it continued for an age, in an endless cycle of servitude, lifelessness and hate....
Now, the Gods are gone. The curse is broken, and the Knights are free to live and relive any memories they encounter. But like bad dreams, these memories are vague and fractured. And so it's time to leave the realm of the Gods, for Fallen Knights must forge their own path, or be lost forever alongside the memories they covet.
Corpses As you travel the world, you will absorb the memories of corpses - both found and defeated - in order to enhance your characters, freely developing them as you wish.
You will spend 'life' to reanimate 'unsouled' Fallen Knights, mastering their bodies and upgrading their potential effect on the game.
Damned sword The Fallen Knight's 'Damned Sword' can naturally morph into new weapons; you'll be able to access the martial abilities of any character class, as long as you've consumed the right memories!
Gameplay Fallen knight is a 1-4 player cooperative dungeon crawler board game. The gameplay consists of strategic, visceral combat, embedded within a campaign-driven framework. Though consumed memories, players will unlock the abilities of dead adventurers, which they can then use in combat. Each ability is represented by a unique ability card, composed of an individual action, a character class and weapon type.
Synergies are special active or passive skills that Fallen Knights will receive if they have multiple abilities of the same class or weapon type. With hundreds of ability cards and over 20 unique synergies, Fallen Knight provides a dynamic and exciting space for character creation, customization and optimization!
Instead of dice, Fallen Knight utilizes a sub-action deck. With over 20 sub-action cards, players can flexibly tailor their strategy to best deal with their immediate foes!
Monsters are controlled by a combination of Monster Action cards and Monster Behavior cards. Monster actions - unique to each creature in Fallen Knight - will dictate its actions during boss battle combat. Monster behaviors - drawn from a deck shared by all monsters in the game - will modify the monster's actions by adjusting damage range or type, changing targets, or activating a myriad of special abilities.

Looks like Miniac will be doing something to promote this, which I think will likely take it to funded.

I think the frogfolk are particularly fun, but they have a bunch of other stuff. Worth checking out, there's an early bird special for the STL files or the physical resin prints. Because they're doing it all in house, appears to have a pretty quick turnaround too.

My child received a set of board books one Christmas and once the box was open it served no purpose to anyone but me. I rescued it to turn into a "fancy display box." I will tape up the edges of the acetate, then cover all the non-sky surfaces- on the inside and outside - with paint. What I need now is help choosing a/ some colour/s.
Dreadmere gulper for scale (approx 5x6x10.5).
Please post colour combo suggestions though I'll probably do a pale blue on the inside sides. Help me decide.
