Is Bella a miniature horse? or a Shetland pony? Or something else, Frisian pony maybe?

That is what is so great about dogs.

The number of times I have had dogs instantly dislike me just from one glance is three. Just three. Out of a lifetime. (I can't say that about people. They are not anywhere near as kind.) And two of the dogs in question were Equal Opportunity Haters. Those two snarled at everyone as a matter of policy.

I think she's a shetland.

The owner is the same one  who owns Sjaan the Boxer Lady I showed earlier.

Snarling dogs are not my type.

Most are nice and friendly, only the ones with bad owners snarl at me.

Brutus is being treated with antibiotics for Cystitis.

Earlier this week he wasn't feeling well and I noticed blood in his urine ( and at some point urine in his blood it seemed)..

He's recovering, more playful again and I don't see blood ( could still be some in there but at least not visible to the naked eye)

So, he needs to finish his cure, I hope it will be alright.

When all is over a sample needs to be delivered to the Vet again for checkups.

Here he is peacefully digesting breakfast with antibiotics

Well the good news is that the Cystitis seems to be gone.

Sample test was good.

The bad news is that he will get surgery Monday because a nipple has shown some supsicious growth.

Hoping it is benign and that surgery will solve the problem.

Tissue will be sent for research and we will know later.

You need to be cautious there Brutus Naugas are an endangered species following the great couch drives of the 1980s...

It looks like he's chewing a piece of synthetic leather like the stuff they made couches of in the 1980s.  They called the material naugahide so if hea chewing on some he would have to  catch a Nauga

I is very well possible that that's the stuff.

What he's chewing on is a professionally demolished soccer ball!

Got a call from the VET concerning Brutus's surgery he's supposed to have Monday.

As some of you might know from earlier posts, Brutus intestines are in the wrong place.

Instead of where they should be they are located in his chest and around his heart.

So..

The Vet is actually not very eager to operate on him because he worries that the anasthesia will pose a larger risk than usual.

We will now take a sample of the tissue this Monday.

The Vet will immediately look at that under the microscope and then we will see if action is needed.

Maybe even if necessary local anasthesia in which case I will have to assist in keeping Brutus calm.

In the worst case scenario we will have to decide if we take the risk depending on the prognosis, maybe then further examination will needed before we decide.

I'm scared as hell, I do hope it will turn out to be something innocent, but right now I'm worried.

So..

Went to the Vet with Brutus this morning.

He used local anasthesia, and then cut off a piece of the growth on his nipple.

Results will be known in 7 to 10 days.

His first thoughts are an inflammation of that nipple or a polyp.

We really want to rule out the big C.

Hope it is an inflammation or something relatively innocent.
