You have better luck that us.  Our second basset had very large flows and proved to be excessively drippy especially after drinking (or seeing food, or thinking about food, or not thinking about thinking about food... so pretty much always.)  he would bark 1 before shaking them out and pretty much acting as a lawn sprinkler.

you taught Brutus where his towel it.  Toby taught our family how to duck!

Things like this are why I prefer cats.

We occasionally think about getting another dog or cat but with my medical condition and my families allergies, I am not sure it would be fair to the pet.  My younger son gets really stuffed up and miserable even if he takes allergy medication and doesn't touch the fuzzies.  Asking him to live with one is sort of mean...

@Kangaroorex a friend of ours has allergies too and has found he can live very happily with this breed, the Siberian cat:

@Kangaroorex Labradoodles are dogs which seem to be good for people with allergies

Both are true but there is also my health issues.  I tend to be the primary caregiver for furry animals and my untimely demise might be less than fun for the fuzzy in question.   We have occasionally thought about a poodle as they are also pretty low on the allergy scale but my son reacted to those as well.  I'm just not sure if a fuzzy is in our future.  That's not to say we don't have pets.  I have a pair of snakes and a dragon who have good personalitys and are fun to play with.  But even those can wear me out at the ensnof my chemo cycle.  I think we will just have to share other's furry pets at this point in our lives.

Today I woke up with a killer of a headache and all of my joints in revolt.  Have to wait until Tuesday to figure out if it's a cold or just this round of drug reactions.  When you have a chronic illness, life is full of little surprises! ::D:

We'll see what happens.  For all my griping, I am very satisfied with my treatments.  I get some variation but for the most part, I have two weeks of normal life and one week of feeling poorly and for this I have the potential to live close to a normal lifespan.  (Its only recently that I have begun to think about the fact that I may have a normal lifespan, the idea is pretty new).  I am way to curious to see what happens next to want to give up the ability to live longer.  though I agree with your thoughts and I hope one day they can cure what ails me.  Of course it would be nice if they could give me my mobility back too...  And I am not the only one on the boards who would like that!

I also have to deal with some internal speciesism.  My father was an avid dog lover but had only two classes of dogs:  purebreed and mutt.  The concept of a doodle or a corgipoo or a shnoodle selling for 1200 dollars would have him spinning in his grave!  While I'm not that bad, I will not be investing more than my computer's cost in a crossbreed.  I see the benefits of hybridization but I am a little disturbed at the cost of designer pets.  The money spent on some of these could feed and treat the thousands of strays and give them a home.  But that's a discussion for a different time.

Now I'm off to see if I can get my latest paint acquisitions to fit into my paint racks and still have the space to put my scale 75 paints in a single rack!

Either you have a large rack or not enough paints if you can fit them all in one single rack ::D:

Stay well my friend!

We live in wondrous times where science discovers new things at tremendous speed.

I hope a cure will soon be one of those discoveries.

And I understand your view on the designer pets.

I'm still not sure how I feel about them.

I always had Boxer Dogs Purebreds, We're getting older and we have talked about it if thing go as they should be, Brutus should be with us for another 4 to 5 years hopefully.

After that, considering age and physical problems that are slowly showing themselves, a Boxer might be too strong for us to handle by then.

But we can't live without a dog,  so by then another breed might enter the home.

I hope it will be a long time before it happens, I love my Brutus and he's well now.

Since the weather cooled down a bit he's more active and even has is crazy 5 minutes daily again ( I believe Americans call it the zoomies?)

Well that is just 1 manufacturer.  The answer was no BTW.  I had 16 paints left over but that's okay, they were the eye set and the NMM set so those can stay in their boxes as special rules ::D:

You mean the point were they wake up, tear around the house for 5 minutes (Nicky always grabbed a pillow) for no Good reason then come to a stop and either look around like nothing happened or like why isn't everyone joining him?  Might have seen that a time or two .

It's good to hear that he is well and happy!  His pictures and antics always give me a laugh!  I hope he runs out the far edge of the average.
