@TheMandolin, no I didn't use primer. No primer and no paint, only two layers of ink. To help the ink to stick to the surface, I cleaned the models with soapy water. I applied a first layer of ink after the models were completely dry, and one last layer of ink on the areas that were not colorful enough. Maybe I will seal them with a gloss varnish latter.

Thank you for your comments. I've also painted a pewter version of the ocher jelly some time ago. It really looks different indeed, I had a lot of fun painting the metal version since it was a good surface to practice gradient. Here are pictures of both version side by side.

I really like both of them. With the metal one, it would be fun to have to make it look slimy while with the translucent one, it just looks slimy from the start!

I have one left that I have not yet painted.  I am thinking of using the gem color technical paints from GW. Then hitting them with a series of washes.
