A couple of folk over on Dakka are wondering about the price of the lizaradmen & sun god, are they larger than they appear or is it a case of them being in lots of bits taking up a lot of mould space?

@Orlando_the_Technicoloured ... the Sun God is 70mm tall.   The Lizardmen are only 35mm tall but have a lot of bits that are taking up the mold space.

I even agree that the Lizardmen are not a good deal ... they were part of the acquisition so I put them in the KS.

Dakka Dakka found an image of one painted!    Recovering minis is a fun treasure find.

I did not need to see that ... ;)

Neither does @Glitterwolf because it totally wouldn't fit in with said wolf of sparklyness' Lost World army.  Not one but.  Nope, not at all. (purple for emphasis on the silly, because Glitterwolf totally could make use of such I figure...)

And for myself, hubby is contemplating a lizardman army of some description, which means I'm going to have to learn how to paint scales, aren't I...

I’m unlikely to back this one (too many unpainted fantasy minis as it is), but I will say that I have backed multiple Impact Kickstarters before and also had over a dozen dealing with Tom at Impact in the past and he has been nothing but outstanding every single time.

An awesome guy who does a lot of great things for the community. I could not recommend him more highly.

That's a very cool lizard/dinoman indeed!

This might sound strange, but for now I'm good.

I just backed a huge Aztec style Lizardman Army ( Quetzpal-Lost Kingdoms) and I still have to paint a few 20 reptilians.

So I will paint more first before I buy more ( he said hopefully while he just ordered the Reaper Komodo Dragon two days ago)..

If you start painting lizzies, use pics of the real ones for inspiration how to paint scales.

And use pics of birds as well.

The colours of reptiles and tropical birds are so awesome, you can find a lot of inspiration online.

And maybe you can use my thread a little as well.

I guess there's no reason not to make them available for people who really want them.

Can you name some of the projects these minis come from?  I feel like I recognize more than a couple of them, but I don't remember all the projects.

Oh- and i'll add that I've handled and painted the results of Impact!'s 3D printing, and they're WAY better than the price would suggest.  I expected to have to do a lot of prep work to fix the grooves I'm used to seeing in 3D prints, but I didn't have to do ANY of that (and the mini had a lot of smooth surfaces- it would have shown if they were flawed).

It was more like painting a cast of the mini than a 3D print.

So, if anyone is on the fence because they think that Tom's 3D printing might not be up to snuff, go right ahead and get on board, because his prints are terrific.

@odinsgrandson - look at the main page of the KS - very much at the end. There are a number of companies and Kickstarters mentioned where the minis come from.

WHERE DID THESE MINIATURES COME FROM?

  • Miniatures from the discontinued board game Wizard's Academy
  • Miniatures from the closed company ZN Games
  • Miniatures from the discontinued line for Breachworld by Jason Richards
  • Miniatures from the discontinued line by Hivetrygon Minis
  • Miniatures from closed company Soul Jar - these were from the Torn World KickStarter which was originally rescued by Pacesetter Games which was a noble and awesome act.
  • Miniatures from the failed to fund KickStarter Dawn of the Archmage
  • Miniatures from the failed KickStarter Torn Armor

I backed the failed to fund Dawn of the Archmage project. The creator posted that he has no plans to try and redo it (it failed to fund twice), but he is planning on releasing a print and play version at some point.

Oooh.  Well, if he does that, we'll have the minis for it.  It would be nice for the whole project to see gaming tables.
