Thanks everyone!

Been looking forward to painting these ever since the first blurry photos leaked.

Haven't been able to do much the last couple of days (stupid back), but I made up for that today:-

Finished off her jacket by shading it with 1:1 Dark Green/Scarlett Red, highlighting with 2:1 Dark Green/Ochre Yellow and glazing it with thinned Dark Green.

The trim got a Brown Wash, and then was tidied up with layers of Red Orange and 1:1 Red Orange/Ochre Yellow.

She then got trousers (Iraqi Sand > 2:1 Off-white/Iraqi Sand > Sepia Wash), then I did all her body armour (Bronze > Brown Wash > Bronze > 1:1 Bronze/Aluminium) with Leather Brown Straps.

Finally, made a start on her helmet. The decoration is the same Bronze scheme as her armour, but the helmet itself is Bonewhite > Brown Wash > Bone White > Sepia Wash.

Still need to do the visor and figure out what to do with her mouth (it's rather miscast, so I don't know if I should try to paint it as skin, or pretend she's got a scarf pulled over it.)

Progress:-

Painted her visor (Night Blue > 1:1 Night Blue/Off-white), then I painted her mouth area Stone Grey with a couple brushtipfuls of Pure Black and gave it a Black Wash.

Don't think it did much to disguise her missing mouth, but hopefully when I paint her hands my eyes will stop seeing her as some weird grey alien.

Thanks!

She gives me Buck Rogers vibes (I think that's the right old sci-fi series).

Progress:-

Painted her hair (Hexed Lichen > 1:1 Hexed Lichen/Off-white > Black Wash), and her belt and boots (1:1 Brown Leather/Scarlett Red > 1:1:1 Brown Leather/Scarlett Red/Ochre Yellow > Brown Wash. Plus Brassy Brass decorations and 1:1:1 Brown Leather/Scarlett Red/Pure Black for the void in her holster and boot soles).

Painted her guns (2:1 Stone Grey/Pure Black drybrushed with Stone Grey and given a Black Wash plus Brassy Brass decorations) and did her grenade and backpack generator in Oily Steel (Plus a Vermillion button on the grenade).

Added a Sky Blue light to her generator, and then finally painted her hands (1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin > Flesh Wash > 1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin > 1:1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin/Light Skin).

Then it was just the base to do (Cork Brown > Iraqi Sand Drybrush > Bonewhite Drybrush > Sepia Wash with Brown/Orange grass) and she's done:-

Working on Dr. Helen Matronic, medical officer!

So far I've done her skin (1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin > Flesh Wash > 1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin > 1:1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin/Light Skin) and lips (1:1:1:1 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin/Light Skin/Hexed Lichen).

I don't know what possesed me to do this but I'm glad I did.

Awhile back I was inspired by a gamer on the internet who had converted some Goblins into Gnomes. So I decided to try something similar but with my own style. Unsurprisingly, after I did this I found several other folks online had had similar ideas as well. Including JFA of Hagglethorn Hollow fame.

A bit of greenstuff and a change in the usual colors… presto! Gnomes instead of Goblins.

In hindsight if I was doing this again I think I would use different arms, weapons and shields on the two melee models but otherwise I am pleased with how they came out. Of course they are rather big Gnomes.

The next Gnomes I convert will be from Wargames Atlantic Halfling Militia….

Presenting Brutogg Corpse-Eater, my first finished adventurer from the game Cursed City by Games Workshop.

Had a lot of fun painting this guy, I experimented by giving him grey-hued skin to represent his unhealthy eating habits (he eats zombies) and it worked better than I thought it would.
Annoyingly though, I had to leave the bits under his coat unpainted (just couldn't get a brush up there), nobody will notice unless they turn him upside down, but it still bothers me that he's technically "Unfinished".

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

I recently acquired the latest of Games Workshops Warhammer Quest games:- The Cursed City.
I'd actually like to completely paint one of these things for once, and thought a project thread might help!

First, I built everything (Well, maybe everything. Games Workshop continues to be kinda weird about this game, so I'm not sure if it's getting expansions or not):-

And then made a spreadsheet. I can't batch paint, so even simple minis (like the rats and skeletons) I've put in small groups to help maintain momentum.
I rolled a 5 (actually I rolled a 30 and then a 32, but I know this project is doomed if I start with a rat pile instead of something interesting):- Brutogg Corpse-Eater, unusual Ogre:-

I've made him a simple base (I've been spoilt by all the integral ones I've been dealing with lately), mostly sand with some broken flagstone patches made of putty, and gave him the usual White Primer and Brown Wash undercoat.
      Leaving him to dry overnight.

Finished this a little while ago, but it wasn't until just recently where I was able to get it into an area that's large enough, and has even enough lighting (whoo, b-day gift of a 24" cube light box and lights!)

This is the terrain element that was included in the Warhammer 40,000 Battle for Macraggae boxed starter set.
