PingosHusband just -- I mean, like just now -- heard from the publisher that they're going to publish the math book he and his brother are writing.

Yay! Yay yay yay!!  I love to learn and I love to make art, and most of my threads start with a variation of, "here you see a baby sculptor/painter/etc in a new habitat learning how to level up, I pro

I made a half-hearted effort at art when I was a kid, it fizzled out in high school. In January 2016 (a few months before I turned 46), I decided to give it another shot. It's...difficult. Also, it's

Oct 1: What is your favorite soup? (or top 3 if you are a soupiphile like me and cannot choose)

(based on a question by Inarah)

My wife makes the best chicken and wild rice soup. As much as I love summer, I am definitely looking forward to soup weather!

I've never had real ramen either.  Hubby and I keep meaning to check out a local place but they're a one shot, so if you aren't in the line when they open....  Odds are they'll be closed if you show up in the afternoon.

There's a few places downtown here, but their prices are rather trendy and they cater more to the bar scene than family dining.  I have trouble paying $$ for a bowl of noodles, when I see the price of ingredients (even fresh frozen handmade noodles) at the asian grocery store.

I've never had real ramen, though it is in my top 10 foods I want to try list.  We just don't have anywhere near me that makes it.

I would delightedly take you to one of the local places, if you are ever in the area. We are not one of the world's ramen hot-spots, but there are some good options.

New England Clam Chowder. Hard for me to not order it when I see it on the menu.

Top 3:

1.NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER.

2. Beef stew. (Yes, it counts. Stew is just soup you can eat with a fork)

3. Chicken and ______________________(noodles, rice, there are a lot of different things that can go in that blank)

Very close #4--Gumbo

Home made soup I did not have to make myself. ….

Ah hem. Sink Soup is always good. I like Amy's Tomato Bisque, although I am a heretic who adds cream and a little basil to it. If I am eating out for some reason, I often have creamy clam chowder. Nom.

1. Chili (that counts right?)

2. Tomato sauce that I put extra veggies into and call tomato soup (none of that creamy nonsense)

3. New England clam chowder eaten out of a fresh baked sour dough bread bowl.

Favourite canned soups, in no particular order:

-Cream of Mushrom

-Clam Chowder

-Vegetable Beef. It MUST have barley. Anything less is a complete sham

Favourite made-from-scratch soup: borscht. There's nothing like having every ingredient coming straight from the garden.
