Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos for 5e

Recommended Posts

I have the Pathdinder one and love the quality!

I don't even play Pathfinder. Maybe I should try and sell it to pay for this one...

I pledged for the Pathfinder version and all of the minis, until a financial crisis hit and I dropped it completely. Now I'm playing 5e, and Reaper has a growing selection of nicely scaled Mythos figures . . . I might just go in for the book . . . or maybe even just the PDF . . .

You can also buy the miniatures from Cthulhu Wars. Prices are pretty darn good. I've asked how much shipping was for the mini's.

Eh, I'd be more excited if they replied to my message asking how much shipping would be for just a miniatures purchase. I'm not too keen on their lack of responsiveness. And I've asked TWICE. <_<

If you could ask in the comments how I can find out shipping for a miniatures purchase (then post the reply here), I'd appreciate it. I suspect I can make a $1 pledge and buy the miniatures through the PM, but would like to have an actual answer. No, I'm not going to make a pledge when they should be answering questions I sent through the PM. TWICE. :;,;:

Thanks.

I asked that question for you. Let's see how long it takes before I get an answer :)

Edit: No answer as of yet; though, to be honest, I don't really expect an answer.

So, 2 days later, and Arthur Petersen finally replied

"So, first, there is no "minis" only pledge level. If there were, it would be listed on the right with all the other pledge levels.

All the minis on this KS, are ADD-ONS to any pledge level shown on the KS page (note the PDF only pledge is restricted from any shipped add-ons, including minis).

I'll post an update about the minis today to clarify everything perhaps."

From the update:

Q: Is there a minis only pledge?

A: No - you have to get one of the pledges with the book itself, then add on the minis to it.

Q: Will they be sold later, after the Kickstarter?

A: Almost certainly. That's why we put the "regular" price for each one. Though even this price may go up, we're not entirely sure of some things yet, but the hope is to get them into regular distribution channels.

Q: How much will shipping be for the minis?

A: We are still working on this, but it shouldn't be too much per mini. If possible, we will set up in the pledge manager a shipping discount if you are buying a large amount of minis. Lots of the shipping data is simply still being constructed, to be honest. When the pledge manager goes live (about 2 weeks after the campaign is over - roughly when the actual money comes in from the KS), we should have the shipping numbers for the miniatures.

Still haven't painted my CW miniatures, so I guess I can wait! :;,;:

Nice WIP!

I have some CW tutorials in my BGG profile: https://boardgamegeek.com/user/Sam and Max

Of the CW miniatures, the Mi-Go stand out as not being the right scale. They're supposed to be human-sized, but the CW ones are noticeably larger than the cultists. Some mythos monsters are huge, so most mythos miniatures are smaller than "actual" size. CW figures are mounted on cobblestone bases, which make them taller and stand out from other miniatures. I can't find any companies that make similar bases.

I need to think about which reaper minis I have cthulu, shub, dagon, mythos set, will have, nyarlathotep (or reasonable facsimile,  eg, goremaw=dhol).and what to prioritize. No more cultists for me, though.

Well... got my PDF today.

Some stuff... meh. Other stuff I'm intrigued by.

There's encounter tables in the back, so I'm going to use those for determining any mini purchases (along with certain discounts).

Pledge manager in a few days apparently?

I got the early bird 4 bust deal.  FWIW I have some of their earlier figures and they've been very good quality.

Someone in a podcast I listen to (an actual play d&d weekly affair, if I remember correctly) has this rpg based on 80s video nasties. It sounds intriguing and fun.

Atlantis Miniatures is dropping a new Kickstarters campaign next week.  Looks like ogres this time.

I have yet to get anything from them but I might have to bite this time as I've heard great things.

They don't seem to have anything on Kickstarter yet, their Facebook site says they launch on October 1st. It'll be one all-in pledge for the 10 starter minis & everything afterward will be an included freebie. Looks like some cool sculpts; I'll be interested as to what the pledge will be.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/674003445/chibi-siblings-of-conflict-miniatures?ref=friends_launched

      About
The siblings  of conflict are here!
Attack! this interstellar army of hardboiled girls are ready to conquer your tabletop! Assemble unique squads with powerful weapons, led by brave leaders. They're cute, they're rowdy, they are the siblings of conflict!
      STRETCH GOALS
We're planning amazing, unique hero characters, and more! Surprises await! New Stretch Goals will appear as the campaign advances!
      Chibi miniatures!
Chibis are adorable characters that have lately have made a splash in the boardgaming and miniature community with games such as Super Dungeon Explore, Arcadia Quest, Ninja All-Stars and many others. They're also featured in collectible figurines and in other geeky paraphernalia.
This is the NINTH Chibi KickStarter run by Impact! Miniatures and Impact! is partnering with  Märchen to bring you some incredible, new Siblings of Conflict chibi miniatures along with sci-fi allies & enemies for them to combat!
The funding goal will pay for the sculpting & 3-D printing of the miniatures.
       The Miniatures
ALL miniatures in this KickStarter are provided unpainted. Unless otherwise stated after the name of the miniature, all miniatures offered with this KickStarter will be high quality 3-D prints done on a top end 25 to 50 micron printer (you should not see print lines after priming and paint).   As stretch goals are reached we will unlock additional sculpts.  The miniatures will require light clean up, being primed before painted and might need some assembly (although we will do our best to keep the figures with as few pieces as possible).
You can use your reward dollars to get any of the miniatures in the listing above.
      Miniature Quality
While many of the miniatures in this KickStarter will be 3-D printed, the quality will be a very high level since they are 25 to 50 micron 3-D SLA prints which are very different than ABS prints.   Below is an extreme close -up example of a printed figure and how it shows no print lines when primed and painted (with no other prep work).    Many thanks to Yeji Kim for her painting of Vanguard Leader Anna (top row) and Jason Turner for the painting of Vanguard Leader Anna and Vanguard Trooper #3 (bottom row)!
      Shipping
Shipping will be charged in the pledge manager after the project.  At this time we are estimating $5 for US backers, $13 for Canada and $17 for Rest of World. Shipping of the KickStarter will be EU Friendly and should not incur any customs fees.
