Continuing my paint up of all the bosses in the Forge of Fury, here is Kavorgh, painted up to be the Orc Wight Champion.  My first time playing with a light box to get better pictures too :)

I am a sucker for dark palettes, especially when it comes to creating a more realistic, believable, and gritty feel to the models. This orc tickles the right way, and is one of the better ones I've seen on here. When I think orc, I think this. Stellar job my dude. Less can be more, and this shows that.

Amazing range of tones in a limited palette! Crisp work; Kavorgh looks like the stuff of legends to inspire dread and horror. Go to bed, children, or Kavorgh will GET you!

The hand trophies and the rust-kissed armor plates are excellent.

Wow thanks for the kind words!

While it worked well here, I do think I tend to not make my highlights bright enough.  Things are looking good under bright light, but harder to make out at the table.  (solution:  simply fill our game room with blinding floodlights!)

I have been taking the advice of some painters I like (e.g. Kujo https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyMPU99KvmxIMkD8NZQu1tA) in terms of pallet, keeping things to three main colors (here the olive green, the leather, and the dark red) which really does make this guy at least feel very unified in look.

      My stash will arrive today!
I haven't done a WIP in a very long time , something I intend to remedy.
I am extremely excited to get my hands on my contribution to Bones 5, the Whispering Ghoulsbane. Maybe more so than any prior piece I have made. Seeing as how I don't actually have the mini in had at this moment, Id thought I'd fill this space with some history about the concept.

I like to watch reviews for feedback on pieces I've made (and learned a lot).  A few review waffled on what the thing was, exactly. Part of me revels in this ambiguity -it is what you want it to be. That said it does have a mundane monster  origin story.......wait, say, lets make a game of it!

Which "old school" monster served as the primary inspiration for the Whispering Ghoulsbane? take a guess.

Wait wait wait! it's here, at this very moment! Delivery! let the prepping begin.
      Step 1: Open the bag.

      That is all for now.

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on an Ogre gang and completed the painting on this model last night. This is a 77455, Ogre Smasher sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped the top of its club with that of the 77454, Ogre Clubber. I also added three more skulls at his waist belt. it was all painted with Reaper MSP paint. I will complete the base later since I may add more elements to it.

Just a random assortment of the first painted from Bones V.  I sort of cheated...my Kickstarter arrived yesterday but I borrowed these in advance from a friend who got theirs earlier.

So, youngest vixen's boyfriend mentioned my hobby when hanging with his friends.
They like to play board games etc,.
One of his friends asked if I would paint the minis for his Board Game - Dark Souls for him.

      So...I agreed.
He will let me know what he'd like for the bigger monsters.
As for the characters and minions, he let me decide ( oh boy, shall I paint a rainbow skeleton?)

      Anyway, here it goes.
