While it's possibly a banning offence, I've gotta admit I don't particularly care for Sophie or her various minis, but this one really leapt out at me.

Actually you'd be surprised to see how many Sophies are tossed into the melt table @ ReaperCon each year.

Nice start, red hair looks great!!

(At some point I really should think about starting a blog, or whatever the cool kids do these days, instead of cluttering up the forum with my stuff.)

I may have made things extra hard for myself by fully assembling everything, but she has little, dainty feet so I was never going to be able to pin her to a cork.

Please don't stop "cluttering up the forums" - I love the way you paint stuff :D

This is going to be epic, I've been chickening out of painting that mini since last year.

1) We want you cluttering the forums. That's what the forums are made for! We ALL get to pile on our WIP pictures! Post more pictures! More minis! MOOOOORREEE!!

2) BANNED FOREVER AND EVER.

2.5) But not really.

3) She's going to be tough to paint fully assembled.

Funny you should say that. My reaction to painting stuff in pieces is: "how do you get it together without slopping up the paint job"...gluing is my weak point.

It is another different strokes case I suppose.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

Don't worry, I haven't put any serious thought into starting a blog, it just struck me that I've been making a lot of threads in this part of the forum lately.

At least I've gotten better at sticking with them to completion.

In my case, I'm bound to make mess either way!

Progress:-

I finished off her hair, put in highlights of 1:1 Scarlett Red/Red Orange, pure Red Orange and 1:1 Red Orange/Ochre Yellow and then the underside of her hair got a Brown Wash.

I then did her hair beads (either Bronze or Artic Blue), and the flower decoration (Squid Pink flower petals with an Off-white centre, Light Green big leaves and Dark Green little leaves > all over Brown Wash > re-applied base colours > highlights of 1:1 Light Green/Ochre Yellow on the big leaves and 1:1 Dark Green/Ochre Yellow on the little leaves).

Spotted a bit of leg I missed earlier, so that's the next job.

It is for me too; I like to glue stuuff together first. However, some figures need accessibility.

@aku-chan I'm getting an Ariel Little Mermaid vibe from her. I like it so far ::D:

That wasn't my intention, but now I'm thinking how cool she'd look with a giant crab sidekick.

Progress:-

Did her boob-tube in green (Dark Green, shaded with 1:1 Dark Green/Scarlett Red, highlighted with 1:1 Dark Green/Light Green and given several thinned Dark Green glazes) with a Light Green trim.

Also painted her crocodile teeth necklace (Leather Brown > Iraqi Sand > Brown Wash > Bonewhite) and her shoulder-pad (Bronze > Brown Wash > Bronze > 1:1 Bronze/Aluminium).

And I painted the bit of leg I missed plus some hair I missed too.

Progress:-

xN4uAYm.jpgsexl4kW.jpg

Painted up one of her skirt bits, did the same Dark Green as her boob tube but with a couple extra highlights (Dark Green, shaded with 1:1 Dark Green/Scarlett Red, highlighted with Dark Green plus 1 brushtipful of Light Green, then 2 brushtipfuls of Light Green, then 1:1 Dark Green/Light Green and then glazed with thinned Dark Green).

Didn't get any further, painting the back side of the skirt was a massive pain in the bum and rather time consuming.
