I really like this figure.

You have very good brush control.

I think the yellow and green combo works well.  Anyone would be happy to have this represent their character.

If I could give my 2c worth of advice:

The eyes might benefit from a darklined method.  Paint the whole eye dark like Brown Liner.  Then paint a strip of an off white like Linen White.  Leave a little line of brown liner all the way around.  Then add a dot of brown liner as the iris and pupil.  Try to match each pupil’s direction so it appears she is looking a certain way.

The more white you paint into the sclera, the more surprised she would look.  The less white you paint, the more determined she will look.

Last small critique, just my opinion: The back shot shows too many different colors going on, like a rainbow.  I would consider doing most of the leathery stuff in your medium brown, and maybe a green for the bedroll.  It can match the green of the dress since it seems distinct from behind.

Thanks everyone!  I tried the dark lined eye method on this lady, but it was one of the details that got lost by too many redos.  It's worked really well on my last few figs, but going for a specific "look" on this one ended up costing me in the end.  Oh well, I have plenty of figs left to keep practicing on!

      More villagers for your town!

Many of these poses are unique and, afaik, unavailable elsewhere.

All In Pledge shows all sets available in this KS. Sets and smaller bundlers are available, and sets from the previous Villagers KS are available now from the creator's website.

I'm not so sure this is a show off as I'm not happy with the final result. The bones have way to much contrast in my opinion.  What do you all think?

I previously backed the RBJ "Yippers and Squealers" KS (dog-faced kobolds, and pig-faced orcs) and the KS went fine. The Squealers will be offered in this KS as well. I'm only posting these pledges to show all the miniatures, and other pledges are available, including one with "everything".

Last day for October, but still got one in.

      Battle Report!

I realize this is not a halloween type mini, but the thought was there.  I was testing a few things here, but can't believe what came out.  I should have been taking photos as i went to articulate this point better, but I'll do my best to explain.
Mistake #1.  I thought i grabbed my bottle of black Stynlrez primer, but it turned out to be my black wash.  It ended up making a cool effect on the model with highlights being untouched.  Since this is a bones USA model, the material takes to paint and primers really well.  Mistake turned into a win, but note the paint didn't grab the wash as well.
Mistake #2. Tried to do a contrast paint effect.  Didn't work.  The contrasted area turned into a great template for me to work with in laying my next colors down, so not all a loss.  The model looked muddy and i nearly just put it down.
Mistake #3.  I had to keep in mind, it never looks good at the layering point.  KEEP GOING. Putting more color down, adding depth, and touching up with highlights makes a big difference.
Now i felt like i was making progress and could see hope.  I did the hair, and that made me feel way better.  The brightness in the hair made me feel like i had some "pop" to it.  Now we're getting somewhere.
Overall, i added more layers, edge highlighted, black lined, and shaded in areas.  He came out looking decent.  Last model for October and I'm happy with him.
