91006 Prarie Tick Queen - Bones

Recommended Posts

Greetings!

I envisaged the prarie tick queen as a monstrous bloodsucker so I gave her a red bloated body. The markings on the body are meant to be blood vessels inside her but I think I made them too dark.

He is, in his own creepy, disease ridden fashion, CHARMING...I love his non-buggy eyes.  He is BEAUTIFULLY  painted in an imaginative & attractive array of colors. VERY WELL DONE!

You don't often see a Tick that has charming, beautifully, & attractive in his description.

Now that’s really pretty, like a (real life) black widow in the elegance and color. Real ticks creep me out but this is something I could stand to have in my collection. Great job!

I had lots of fun painting her.
      Hope you like her.

I have been putting together some eastern/desert flavoured monsters (posted separately) and also a band of rangers for the latest mission in Rangers of Shadow Deep, set in the desert.

The camels are Reaper Bones. There is a special NPC, Arisien the Royal Cartographer, and I used a Dreadmere figure for him. I have a Privateer Press model of Belit who I painted as a fish out of water Northern barbarian. Then there are two foot soldiers and a Knight. These are plastic kitbashes and a figure from Diehard miniatures. I need to finish off some other minis to round out the team, all Reaper.

So for my Shifting Sands Project I would like a photobackdrop like I did for my Lost World.
Sort of a little diorama/terrain piece on its own but also a nice backdrop.

      I'll present to you:

The Temple of Apophis ( or Apep) the Forbidden God.
Nobody in his right mind would worship the Suneater, or would they?

Start and some shuffling around with pieces to get ideas.
I already have some stuff in mind, still possible to change/add stuff.

Printing the Artisan Guild Snake Statues that go with that altar as we speak.
Need more of those braziers, and I will print up some Egyptian torches, maybe columns etc...

      Now! KNEEL before Apophis!!!

I painted the Reaper Rhino Beetle for my Shifting Sands Project.
      Used several Metallics on it.

Here is the start of pathfinder red, which I’ll be doing as a Sapphire dragon, similar to what i did with the Grenadier Red Dragon II (which I did as  a Ruby dragon) a while ago.

Just base colors here; dark blue/black wash over his entire body, earth wash over the sand, and white statue. I really like how the blue and brown look together. The brown will be lightened up to sand, and the blue will end up a more saturated dark blue. I hope those colors will still look good together...
