Corsair
Well, I didn't expect to get any painting done this week but did find some time tonight. Since the Tsuisekis only needed a single color, decals and canopies, I decided to hit them. Even had time to drybrush a bit. I used the paint scheme and markings from the Marines in WW2 off the USS Bunker Hill. I also got a single color on the Templar Halberd.
Corsair
Last night, this morning, whatever, pretty much finished off this guy for my Templar. Experimenting with a paint scheme as I will be getting a bunch when KS arrives.
Corsair
Well, a little accomplished for January so far. Got Herbie ready for secondary colors and striping, my Rach primed and yellow done, so hopefully tonight I can get some red on them.

Corsair
Well, these showed up on the doorstep today. Already emailed Reaper about the damaged arm on the Katana. They are gonna get scrubbed tonight, but not touched until I get some others done!
Corsair
Well, got some primer on the 5 new arrivals. The basic coat on the Terrans, still making evil plans for a flame pattern on the Assassin.
Corsair
A bit aggravated right now. Had Herbie primed, but needed a gloss finish for the decals. So I figured I would try a rattle can since the primer was dry and perfect. He is still sticky! If it doesn't dry by tomorrow into the PineSol! Corsair
I found this poor little Tyrant in a used box, don't know what someone had in mind for it, but I will get him primed and add him to the Rach herd. malefactus
I suppose the size of the bases is dictated by the rules, but they would look much better on larger bases.
Corsair
The hex bases are used for firing arcs, so some do get attached to larger bases.

I've felt the same way ever since they announced the size for the plastic hexes and they were going to be smaller than the old metal hex bases way back in Dec 2014. And the rules didn't dictate the size, they went with a size that would be more useful to more people so more people would buy the bases. I hope that made sense, I really need to shut the computer off and go to bed. 2
Corsair
The current bases are the same size as the bases that have been used on these and on BattleTech for decades.

Not to my knowledge, it's even only suggested to use hex bases, because there's a lot revolveing around base to base contact and as mentioned firing arcs. Course the models all come with hex bases, all the same size, so I tend to stick with those anyway myself.
Corsair
Battletech is fussier, Cav doesn't even have to have that base, just a way of establishing if 2 models would be in base to base contact.
