Shadowrun Hobgoblin from Ral Partha

Recommended Posts

All of your Shadowrun characters have been BEAUTIFULLY painted creations, but, for me, this Roguish Fellow is OUTSTANDING...it might be the metalwork. VERY WELL DONE!

I wonder if it’s the metal work or do you just like the vibrant colors? I’ve admired your work for quite a while and you have so many pieces with strong, bold coloring!

The vibrant colors may very well be the attraction. You did a SPLENDID job utilizing a fine selection of colors.

Great, vibrant paint job, like all the SR figures you've painted. And I absolutely love this figure. I painted him up this past summer and he's known as "The Randall" in our group after a player who recently passed away. He had a big mohawk (alternately all green or in a rainbow pattern) back when we were all young and even had a Y-shaped scar on the side of his head where we accidentally ran him over with a van one night. Just like this miniature! Seeing your awesome paint job makes me think of him and laugh a little. Thanks.

I'll add another vote to the great vibrant colors! Love his candy colored hair too - the skintone is really great as is the look of his weapons!

Thanks so much! Punk figures I’m finding out are kind of fun, either dark and silky and gothic or colorful as the rainbow!

I actually have never played Shadowrun before, but I’m guessing it’s a fun milieu to hang out in. One of the things I like at least visually from the figures is their conception of technology. There are a lot of figures that have these big rectangle computers/keyboards that are kind of like laptops.

I’m glad I could bring back some fond science fiction role playing memories!

Thanks Iridil!  The weapons started out as ashen blue, then some soft blue, dark elf skin, then dark shadow (a dark brown), then dark elf shadow, and then finally black.  On top of the ashen blue to highlight I did rainy grey, then misty grey, then ghost white, then just white white.

Being a 90’s punk rocker, I love your SR punks so much! I’m gonna need a picture of the whole cast of Mad Max when you’re finished! Go bold or go home, GREAT JOB!

I don’t know if I’ll ever get them all finished, but as I get those punks done I’ll always post them here!

I love it!

Awesome colours!

If you have another one like that, maybe paint an anarchy symbol or something like that on his jacket?

That mohawk is super!

A crude circle with an A through it in red is all it needs, it can be sloppy...since ...PUNK!

You can do eett!

So I don't know much about Battletech, more of a fantasy guy myself, but I do like these figures which are some Mech Warriors that were sculpted back in the eighties by Bob Charette that Ral Partha just recently re-released.  They have eight per pack with different poses, and I got these first from the Liao Faction/Clan/Family.  Going to eventually get through the whole group and I'll eventually photograph the whole group together, which is why I haven't based them yet.  I've been told these are the pilots for the Mechs and it's very hot in the cockpit, which is why they are pretty scantily clad.

These are eighties Partha, so they are some pretty small  25mm sized figures.  More to come later as I finish them!

      Enjoy!

Hello everybody, first time posting here. Normally I only paint one or two minis a year for my pen and paper games, but since my skills would never improve that way I decided to embark on a quest to paint my entire stack of minis that accumulated over the years.

The mini below is going to be one of my characters. I was looking for a female half-orc with a more roguish and sassy appearance than usual, since she will be raised in civilization. I found myself out of luck; most half-orc minis seem to look stereotypically brutish. So I gave this hobgoblin archer a half-orc makeover. Since I had two of them I painted both, going to use the one with the purple colour scheme.

FINALLY back in a WarShip frame of mind, so here we go! First up is the Essex-class CDS Architeuthis:

Up next is Alliance Naval Star, consisting of the Nightlord-class CSR Lynn McKenna, Essex-class CSR Marshal Ney and CSR Mulhacén, Whirlwind-class CSR William Adams, and Fredasa-class CSR Kutkh.

Good morning everybody, so here's a figure that's actually been sitting on my paint desk for probably six months I'm guessing.  I got his skin and his white beard done, but afterwards all the colors to add on afterwards were kind of stumping me, so I ended up just leaving him sitting there for months and months.  For some reason though after getting back from a business trip two weeks ago, I took him up again and finished him pretty quickly.  I think it was a combination of color choices and some tight spots to get paint to that were putting me off.  Anyhoos, I got him figured out and finished.  I gave him some pink shoes, just because I wanted to annoy the cosmic color wheel, but when I look at it, his shoes don't even actually bother me that much. So I'm not sure if I was able to accomplish anything in an attempt to violate the holy color wheel or not.

He's a Hackmaster Battle Mage, probably from around 2003 or so, originally sold on the Hackmaster range and acquired a few years back from Iron Wind Metals/Ral Partha.  Nice solid figure, pretty good side and despite my earlier trepidation, a pretty easy paint job to do.

Fronts and back at slightly different angles, couldn't choose the best ones so threw both sets in.

      So anyhow, hope you enjoy!

These guys are really tiny, from back in the days when the word "miniature" really meant something.  They are based on 0.5" washers.
