About

We want to start a anthropomorphic post-apocalyptic miniature line

Its based on a small 1:56 scale (28mm) range with a post-apocalyptic touch.

In the far future our domesticated animals have developed into sentient beings just as humans did so long ago.

These anthropomorphic citizens has evolved or perhaps where created by a since long gone dying old world that was ruled by humans alone. This is only remembered by the new civilization through legends, stories and myths.

As we have seen before in ancient civilizations a ruling class often need a lesser class to stand upon to “rise” above the masses.

For the Mutants of the working class the struggle is real, and many takes refuge to the wild. The dream to explore ancient ruins and the possibility for a life in luxury and ease after just one successful expedition draws man and mutants alike.

Group shot (not to scale) Group shot (not to scale)

These are our heroes, because regardless of heritage these creatures will take on the roles as explorers, outcasts and even monsters. We are going to follow them out in the new dawn in a world rising from the abyss that was before. This is NoMADs in the making. Meet the future and most likely perish in it.

Our Inspiration for this range is amongst others some classical Swedish RPG games as well as recent Post apocalyptic games and games in the Steampunk genre.

The first miniatures will be a small series of the following creatures in one pack so you can not buy them separately. It's all or nothing.

1. One hamster, this one comes with a name already, Beerjeer, he was a soldier before he became an adventurer.

Beerjeer Beerjeer

2. One wolf.

Woffie Woffie

3. Three rabbits, one female, armed to the teeth and dangerous for all meat eaters.

Rubbits Rubbits

4. One robot armed and hostile.

Does not compute Does not compute

5. Two monkeys loaded with recycled tech a bit like steampunk. One is the captain of the airship and the other one is a crew member.

What does this button do? What does this button do?

6: Bear

Where is my honey? Where is my honey?

7. Mutated Duck.

Not Donald Not Donald

 7: Wild boar.

oink oink oink oink

And one large really awesome airship. This is a kickstarter exclusive and future kickstarters might have accesories to the airship as add-ons.

Airship Airship

We will give you better pictures of all the miniatures and the airship as they are done and we will have the first sculpts on the 20th of December and we will of course give you pictures of them. For now all the images are work in progress and the miniatures might differ from the sketches.

If you are curious about our sculptors skill, some of us has worked with him before and here is an image of previous scuplts. And you can check out his Facebook page:

Looks interesting, but I'm somewhat surprised it launched with just concept art...  I'm so used to see at least some digital sculpts in there.

Seems interesting, but I'd want to know heights and how the builds are before committing.  Oh, and estimated shipping costs, plus what material they're being made in (they mentioned uncertain if it will be pewter or resin).

Rather surprised at the lack of a fox, skunk, weasel, badger, ferret, otter, canine other than wolf, etc...  Such things.

In addition to @WhiteWulfe's comments, I'm surprised that there is no option for just the character minis without the airship.

I'd consider backing for just the character minis, but I don't want the airship, no matter how nice it is.

I didn't even notice you had no choice but to get the airship... $222 CAD is, uhm...  Ouch.  I agree, a miniatures only pledge would go over a lot better with people.

I just backed long enough to leave them a comment asking why that's not an option, then canceled my pledge.  I've put the KS on remind me, because I really like a couple of those concepts.   Looking forward to seeing if they do post the sculpts next week.

This was their response:

To be able to do this project we need to make 100 of each model including the airship. To start smaller pledge levels before we know that we have enough to make all the models could cost us a lot but we are thinking about it.

I don't get that line of thinking.  I mean, I get that they have to ensure they have the funds (which is a good sign), but to me it would make more sense to set the airship up as a stretch goal - shoot for 300-500 of the character models as the initial goal, then a large stretch goal for the airship.  Like CAVBOSS was going to do for the Drop Ship in the CAV III KS.

Looks like they replied.  Something about how they want to make sure 100 of each are done to afford it or something.  Sadly, on the app I can't copy/paste.

They did put up a green/gray for the WIP female bunny though, as an update (that once again, I can't copy anything due to Android app, grr).

But yeah, the entry price is going to make people think a long while about it.

Edit: ninja'd! :p

Nope.

If it was me I’d have run the kickstarter for some of the character minis only, so see what the popularity and demand for them was like and to establish a history of being able to provide a quality product in a timely and reasonable fashion. Then build on that with a later kickstarter for the big pieces if the initial response warrants it.

From the concept sketches, it’s hard to tell if the minis will be cartoony or more “realistic”.

From the bunny green they’ve shown, it looks like cartoony.

From other examples they’ve shown of his work, I don’t think the sculptor has the skills for anthropomorphic animals that the Oathsworn or Darksword sculptors have.

So, nope.

That's pretty much the make or break part for me...  They would have to be of similar detail and quality to Oathsworn, Darksword, or the various Reaper Mini ones to be taken seriously..   And with how that green currently looks, if fur detail isn't added into the sculpt then that means it will be entirely up to the painter to add such...

Shame, I'd pledge for a set of characters just to get the rabbits (the WIP in update 1 doesn't look bad) but not $200+ cdn, no matter how cool the airship might be.

And all the other concerns listed above.  Not sure how you can have a whole KS planned out without knowing what your casting material will be and not having even one sculpt done...

I got it on a reminder in case they adds a single mini option, i wouldnt mind 1 or 2 of them, also running a campaign this close to Xmas isnt a great idea as theres not a lot of money around IMO!

I wouldn't mind getting that bear, because with a bit of white paint he could become Doc from The Whiteboard...

But an airship....

What the elf am I going to do with that?

Is it sad that I have the exact opposite problem?

I'd be all over just the airship....

I wonder if the airship is already in progress (or done) hence the need to include in for all backers as that's the thing that HAS to be paid for

I suspect the 100 casts of each is the minimum order for their caster, so it this is a genuine KS (ie they have little or nothing beyond the designs) the will need to get the funds to get the stuff made

      About
Start your journey through deep caverns, and the land of the spiders, before venturing forth into the cursed realms. Ancient demons and foul creatures dwell in the shadows of The Forsaken Lands...lands of ruin, mystery, and decay! Make a pledge to begin your adventure and choose your own path!
3D printed and painted model depicted above. This piece was printed with a Creality CR-10 and Creality Ender 3. Miniature not included, used to demonstrate overall scale of model. Not affiliated in any way with any companies who produced the 28 mm miniature knight used to show scale in the photographs. The Forsaken Lands terrain collection is designed for 28 mm tabletop wargames and role-playing games. Each pledge is delivered as an STL file pack, designed to be printed on your home 3D printer.
Each model is to designed to capture your imagination and evoke feelings of mystery, through an ancient lived in world, full of ruin, decay and beautiful imperfection! All files are green lit in Meshmixer and Netfabb, are single shells, and have been extensively test printed and optimized. Printing instructions will be included in each pack.  As a complete set, each piece is designed for a full and diverse setup on your gaming table, intended for games that utilize elevation as well as larger terrain pieces and scatter. Photo/Paint by Wright Terrain Studio/ Alex Wright  NO FILE EXCEEDS 200 mm on any axis and all prototypes featured have been test printed using the Creality Ender 3 and CR-10. Support material is not needed unless stated in select parts, such as roof pieces with larger overhangs.  Explore different lands and locations in the core set with terrain pieces that stand alone, or as a part of larger setup! Begin your long journey in the forsaken caverns where flickers of shadow swell up from the backdrop of ancient rocks and darkened pools amid the torchlight. Enter the land of the spiders as you traverse these narrow paths and hollows with untold numbers of eight-legged, bloodsuckers on the prowl. It would seem that a moment of respite can be found here, as you stumble upon the ruins of an ancient temple. But it is not the holy place it once was. Decayed and covered in thick overgrowth, mystery awaits you as you journey forth. Legend holds that a beautiful and powerful witch once dwelt in this great tower. After a tragic loss, her madness grew in a storm of grief. Some say she still lingers here, immortal, feasting on the flesh of all those who wander into the ancient mountain pass. Creatures of darkness plague this mountain village; there will be no sanctuary for you here. Those who still dwell here may prove even more dangerous than the night hordes responsible for the hundreds of dead buried nearby. An old villager takes you as far as they dare before sending you forth onto what the locals call, The Path of Despair. Here you find the ancient ruins of the city of Irkalla as ghostly moans rise up from the Gate of Souls...
