KruleBear 4796 Report post Posted December 26, 2018 Cool. I like the fact that he is developing a patina. Nicely done.
Evilhalfling 24017 Report post Posted December 26, 2018 Well that is terrific! I second the patina as really well done. Even though you are new to the forums, you are obviously not new to the hobby.

QueenOfChalices 1131 Report post Posted December 28, 2018 Thank you everyone for the comments. A lot of the patina was citadel technical paint nihilakh oxide. I dark-lined/shaded the copper scales with dark purple, and painted the nihilakh oxide over the platinum on the belly and some areas of the copper. This washed out a lot of shading in those areas, so I went back and dark-lined them with P3 coal black. The spots on the wings are P3 arcane blue outlined in coal black. The idea for the spots was based on the illustration in the D&D Monster Manual. I think the teal spots would have looked better on copper wings like the dragon in the picture has, but I wasn't willing to commit to painting so much of it only one color. 1

Mutilatedlips 7328 Report post Posted December 28, 2018 Wow, probably the best copper anything mini I have ever seen. Wish I had a handle on verdigris as well as that. 2

Pillpeddler 545 Report post Posted January 5, 2019 Please don't be offended when I try to paint one exactly like that. I like the more naturally painted dragons instead of the fantastically colored ones. Really good paintin'
