Question for January 21, 2109

What historic figure would you like to meet?

There are too many on my list to just choose one, there's so many interesting people. But for today I will say Winston Churchill, because I'd like to experience his wit firsthand.

Question for January 20, 2019

What is your dream vacation?

Current dream vacation is probably British Isles. All of my favourite vacations have involved visiting national parks (Canadian and American), as well as museums. Next big vacation is likely going to be to Newfoundland: First time to the island ever, and first time out East in a long while.

Question for January 21, 2109

What historic figure would you like to meet?

Is meeting occurring in the present? Or am I travelling to the past to meet them?

If they're coming to the present: I'd like to meet Shakespeare, and take him to see a modern theatre production of Hamlet.

If I'm going to the past: I don't know if there's an individual I'd like to meet. I'd rather experience historical events/moments.

Question for January 21, 2109

What historic figure would you like to meet?

I'll go with Charles Messier.

Because Messier Object 42 (and 43) are downright gorgeous... Or creepy things from YOUR NIGHTMARES.

...We now call it the Orion Nebula.

Vacation: right now, it's a canoe trip for a couple of weeks in the boundary waters. Also, I've got plans for taking my time and meandering up the Hoh River trail in Olympic National Park and then heading up to the glaciers a bit after the trail ends over about 3 or 4 days. And I've a long term goal of canoeing out to Isle Royale National Park and spending a week or so exploring. Basically, the dream is going somewhere where I see the fewest possible people.

Historical figure: tough one... John Muir maybe? I mean, I bet that guy knew of some places a person could go to get away from it all.

What is your dream vacation?

To be able to travel when I'm not at work...

There's so many amazing places in the world, I don't think I'd know where to start. Hubby wants to take me to Greece one day.

Benjamin Franklin seems like he'd be pretty cool (he's even pervy  ). From what I know of him, the depiction of him they had in Sleepy Hollow (the tv show) was pretty close.

Diogenes also seems like he'd be hilarious.

And, well, Shakespeare, just to see how into social media he'd be.

Glad to see others have said cruises, I love cruises but was recently mocked at work for this, I suppose they're not really "in fashion" at the moment, but I've been on a few (admittedly all as a child) and I thought they were AMAZING. Great food, fun activities, swimming all while on the ship, getting to visit a new destination every day or every couple of days, it was amazing I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Sign me up for a month on the Med!

I have been on 4 cruises but have sadly decided not to do it again, though that may change.  I love the cruise concept, but not the reality.  Frankly, If I could go on a cruise and know that it was a ship full of gamers and painters, I'd be there in a heart beat.  The problem I always seem to have is that I despise about 70% of the people who are on the cruise with me.  I'm just not into the gamble and drink until you can't stand action.  If there were a cruise where the casio was a RPG/TTG parlor and the lounges were for mini painting that would be amazing.

Way too many to choose just one. But I would probably go with Galileo if I had to choose just one.
