I don't normally drink coffee; I save it for emergencies. Yes, I realize that this breaks sterotype for a Navy Chief. On my first submarine, my first watchstation was Messenger of the Watch. I got to run around the ship and tell people things. Part of that job was to do coffee runs for the watch section. I saw so many people that drank so much coffee that they needed it to survive. As in they woke and drank coffee constantly and were still falling a sleep. So I descided to save coffee for emergencies. I still drink caffiene. The delivery method is just soda and tea. I will have a cup of coffee if I go out to breakfast.

It may also be the only part of the entire project that went in as designed straight away and did not require any modification or redo. (this is not a fault of workmanship, the reconstructed CAD plans contained many small but cumulative errors that were only discovered during building and needed correction on the fly) But, yes, I have my window. And I love it very much. I visit it at least once a day and lick it from the outside. 8

Back in the mid eighties, I had played D&D with my cousins and he had a few of the old Grenadier Boxed sets. I thought it would be cool to paint them up but didn't have the skills or the brushes and paints to do the job. So I waited until such time I was able to do just that. In the interim, I had some plastic army men I thought would be cool if they were painted so I used my Testor's enamels on 'em. Time passed and I saved up the money to buy acrylics and brushes. A few years before all that though, I remember flipping through Shep Paine's How To Build Dioramas and was blown away by the quality of his work. I imagined taking those techniques and applying them to fantasy miniatures. The art certainly has grown over the past three plus decades.
