Mantic : Terrain Crate 2 KS

Recommended Posts

From nightly to final resting places it looks like this kickstarter is going to try to cover it all.3DE17D52-C829-4816-B4BA-8F3A5EC7682F.thumb.jpeg.9e24507bdcf69f83274f42eed240020b.jpeg

Nothing in todays post interest me, the tree would but the gooby face ruins it for me.

Glad other people are finding things they like.  More terrain options are better for everyone.

Pretty sure they took that tree from an actual tree that was sculpted (and was still alive - the face was carved where a second trunk had been removed). It looked very familiar.

I wish I could remember where I saw it. *EDIT* I am thinking that I saw it in a magazine about 15-20 years ago. Maybe a Renne Faire magazine.

Incidentally, for thin warped bits like those or the wagons - Binder Clips are your friend.

They are available in a variety of sizes, and work a treat. (And you will want a variety of sizes.)

You can add a bit of card to make the area affected wider, you can put them on at weird angles, and they survive being dunked into boiling water with the miniature. They can even be used as handles while doing the dunking.

I’m not sure I understand the different between historical wargame and wargame scatter.

Maybe all of the "scatter" will be just items that look damaged, or broken and "historical wargame" will all be intact/good repair pieces?

Hard to tell though

Almost kind of feels like Historical is WW1 into the very beginning of WW2...  While scatter almost has this mid-late WW2 to Korean War kind of vibe to it.

At a guess - they are smaller sets within the larger sets.

So, both Historic Wargaming and Wargame Scatter will be within the same crate - but also retailed separately as smaller packages.

This really is all over the place theme-wise. Any idea what the item is in the middle of the Zombie Apocalypse pic?

I had thought it was a modern tent that had been partially squashed.

I’m okay with the multiple themes. Makes it seem less over whelming than the previous kickstarter.

So no word yet, when in Feburary this will be?

For some reason I have the 15th rolling around in my head but I’m not sure where I saw/heard that, so don’t quote me on it.

Never mind.

See below.

Archon Studio (LOAD, Vanguard of War, Chronicle X) are branching into modular terrain. The project is now Live:

Apparently it is "full plastic injection" so not the same as their minis. The concept seems interesting, but the preview page is far from finished, so it's hard to get a good grasp on prices (one "Starter Pledge" for $49 is all they currently have listed, along with a $20 add on). The whole magnetized modular wall system looks like it could have potential.

      About
Digital render of the finished sculpts. In the last six or so years I have played a lot of tabletop games, ranging from Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons to smaller games like Frostgrave and Relicblade. I have fallen in love with the hobby of painting miniatures and everything surrounding it. A year ago I made plans to give something back and to add something to this hobby community I love so dearly.
My background in digital game art helped me a lot since I was already familiar with the software to sculpt digitally. So I started working on a few miniatures I would like to produce. Most of them were abandoned in favor of better ideas, but eventually I created this set of three goblins. These goblins are each embodiments of the archetypes found in many of the games I love: the wizard, the fighter and the thief/ranger.
I spent the last year figuring out how to cast resin to the standards I saw in the products I enjoy and how to make sure digitally sculpted details translated well to the tabletop scale.
These three figures are the end result of that progress, but hopefully the start of a lot more.
I made this Kickstarter to cover the costs of the materials used and shipping, but mostly so I can bring these little goblins to your tabletop :)
All miniatures will be multiple parts cast in resin and supplied unpainted, with a 25mm gaming base.
      The final resin casts.

      KICKSTARTER: Tales from the Catacombs

They drag their feet one in front the other, deliberately, slowly. They  crawl out of their resting grounds. Out of the tombs to the fresh air,  slowly, unrestained.
Scylla Models is back presenting you a new range of Villains and Undead monsters for your collection. The models we present you are master casts  white metal (primed white for better result in the pictures), with the only exception of Zuula. She on her Night Terror is our first large monster and we decided to go resin. The results are quite impressive as you might see in the picture.
