My dad was in the same situation and he has pictures of a flock of wild turkeys meandering through his yard.

We had an infestation of wild turkeys a couple of years ago. One particular young tom stayed in our cul-de-sac for more than a week, pecking at glass storm doors and car windows. (Anyone who sings the paeans of wild turkey intelligence has never actually interacted with one.) He finally disappeared one day. I'm kind of hoping it was the local coyote pack.

For reference, we live in the middle of a Denver suburb.

In addition to the turkeys, coyotes, and raccoons, I've personally seen muskrats, owls, eagles, hawks, geese, ducks, cormorants, foxes, egrets, great blue herons, and black-crowned night herons. (Plus the usual assortment of LBBs*, of course.)

* LBB = Little Brown Bird

It's been a while since I was able to get on these forums.

A lot has happened; Got promoted twice, working a lot more and took on a side job after work to make a little more money. As well as doing commission work and editing video's... well learning to edit.

Finally got another commission to do and one more in the pipeline for later and continuing to batch paint for the Core Space board game and my Saber Series of miniatures.

Hope you all are doing well. I'm going to try and get on here more. :)

Wow, that was a blast from my childhood.

I think we're going to have a problem with rabbits in our neighborhood soon.  I've seen an awful lot of them around.

Google Hassenpfeffer recipes?

Marijuana Pepsi

Just heard this on the radio. Congrats Dr Pepsi!!

Like most of the Twitter responses quoted, I was all "wait whut?  Neat." then I was all "well then, congrats!"

I was also wondering why the work email hadn't exploded about some collaboration between Pepsi and Dr. Pepper...

I've never wanted to print out and frame spam mail before, but eBay's never sent me messages asking me to bid on a battleship before, either.

Not a mini or model, and not one of those smaller ships that the news calls a battleship because it's got a gun or two on it. An actual battleship.

So how much did you bid?

Technically, it comes with its own parking space...in Scapa Flow.

I did not, because my wife is having a good day, and murdering me would be a bit of a downer.

Since that event was a) something I'd never heard of before and b) tomorrow is the hundredth anniversary of the event, I had to read the whole article.  Of the entire article, this line caused quite a chuckle:

Talk about reinforcing stereotypes...

ETA:  Oh, and the article seems to answer your question - below.   Last line of the wikipedia article:

In 2019, four of the unsalvaged wrecks (the battleships Markgraf, König and Kronprinz Wilhelm, and the light cruiser Karlsruhe) were listed for sale on eBay by their then owner, retired diving contractor Tommy Clark, who had bought them from Scapa Flow Salvage.[41]

When Sterling rolls over for tummy rubs it's a trap, because he will not get tired of it, and will give you the death glare if you ever stop.

I learned that lesson with a crow. "I'mma give him a head scritchy! What's the worst he can do, peck me?'

Twenty minutes later I am still giving him a head scritchy while people point and go 'Hey, look at the guy with a crow!'... <_<

Plus, at some point, Burger King got back their Angry Whopper. (As I may have mentioned in the past, I have a weakness for jalapenos....)

My general experience is that if the cat claws you when you rub their belly, it's because you didn't rub hard enough...

If they 'grip your hand with their forelegs(claws only extened enough to cause pain, but not massive bleeding), bite you, then lick your hand a few times before staring up at you, it means 'more'...

If they suddenly go amok after a long session of heavy rubbing, it means 'thank you that was great, now elf off I want to sleep'...

Yep - that sums up Tomathy's actions - not quite drawing blood, and purrrrrring.... Then sometimes grabbing with all four paws and deciding that your hand needs a good tongue washing. <_<

I just love it when a distributor tech calls in to service in a panic 30 minutes before I'm to get off because one of their customer's sites is completely down, and wants to catch me before I'm gone for the day.

I love it even more when the symptoms being reported to the tech by their customer are a virtual impossibility, and means that the customer didn't do any actual troubleshooting.

Sorry dude, 40% of your equipment isn't even capable of reporting that error code, so don't tell us "they all say that!"

On the upside, most of the issue was resolved by entering a security code, and fixing a couple parameters.
