I just wanted to stop in for a moment this morning and tell you all how much I appreciate you. I come here most days and look at all the great stuff. Great discussions. Lots of great art in progress and finished. Mostly just a massively awesome group of people who are unfailingly supportive. I know that most of us don't really know each other irl, but that doesn't really matter. No matter how crap my day is, this place is always one of the good parts. So cheers to all of you. I hope you have a great day. You can do the thing.

Quoted because I could only like this once.

I feel the same way - where FaceBook makes me worry about humanity, this place gives me hope.

I woke up yesterday evening to Baby trying to eat my hand. Earlier in the day she had snuggled into my armpit and tried to eat that. Babies are weird.

Oh yeah, she slept in her crib all of three days before we had to give that up again. We'll get there eventually. Hopefully. Someday.

Le sigh.

Right now the plan for after we move is for me to get a part time gig until Baby is weened. Working full time is wearing me down. I'm looking forward to one day being able to think about hobbying again.

Look in the mirror. Now look at your husband. All the weirdness that you see before you has been distilled into the form of Derpling.

I almost never went on Facebook for over a year. Now I've started again mostly because of the Rangers of Shadowdeep forum and trying to find a replacement work truck. Since I was a bit bored and already there I browse. Think I need to quit because it's getting me mad. Thinking about our prime minister and the things he's doing along with some other bad stuff is ruining my mood.

You can avoid the "personalization" that is Google's BS excuse for always watching for any new details about your personal life they can monetize by using DuckDuckGo.

GEM

But what's fun in that?

I LIKED the look on Grump's face when he Googled Halfling Webcomic on my machine and got Alfie! And it turned out I LOVE Alfie! Halfling porn webcomic for the win! ::D:

The business potluck last night was festive.

Dave and Lily leaving made things run a lot more smoothly, but now I have been officially brought on board to give the board an official pure pagan member without Dave an Lily. The board will have a bored board pagan on board. <_<

Keth ISN'T taking over the campground, one of the members of the Unitarian board owns three campgrounds already, so has the experience and separates Keith from conflict of interest. I don't think anyone other than Keith would have CARED, but he did, so he didn't. Plus he has two UP kids, is a minister, AND has a day job, so he wouldn't have had time.

I need to ask Grump the recipe for his stuffed peppers. I THINK I figured out the ingredients, which means I am learning how to taste out a recipe. ^_^ I think he used ground lamb and some wild rice, and some grain thing I didn't really recognize. More of a rice pillaf than a Spanish rice. Maybe a Greek recipe?

I was introduced to Alfie through a gaming news site, of all places. And through one of their articles, no less. It's like the opposite end of the spectrum to Oglaf. In Oglaf the sex is played for laughs, but in Alfie it's played for plot and story(mostly). And it does it well! I'm kind of wondering when they're going to get back to Alfie's mom's trek through the mountains. It feels like it's been a while, and the current bit with Alfie and Ozge seems to be slowing down so... maybe we'll get a little detour back to Vera sometime soon?

Car AC is fixed. Somehow the AC drain line got twisted and kinked up, rather than actually clogged. I have no idea how that would manage to happen, but it did. It was also covered by the warranty so I paid nothing other than about an hours worth of my time.

Came home from that and "mowed" my lawn with my weedeater again. It'd been about a month since the last time I did it. Since I took the day off work, and it hasn't really rained recently, I figured today was as good a day as I was going to get to do it. If it doesn't rain much tonight and it raining tomorrow, then I'm probably going to try and hit it with my actual lawnmower for the first time this year. But tomorrow and Sunday supposed to be full of severe thunderstorms, according to the forecast. And since it's been calling for storms for a couple days now without any hitting, I'm not going to be surprised when this time it's true. I mean, I think this is the first week we've had since late March where we haven't had at least one day of hard rain. I'm sure it's just been saving up to hit us as hard as possible for a couple days.

Also, Facebook has decided to start showing me ads again. It hasn't shown me an ad in probably 4-5 months. So now it's time to do what I always do whenever it starts showing me ads - hide every ad and/or report every ad as offensive, fake news, spam, or sexually inappropriate. I'll do that at least twice every day, purposefully scrolling through my feed just to find ads to report, and after about a week I'll be ad-free for another 4-6 months.

Whoo. Was up picking cherries early this morning. They’re almost two weeks late this year, owing to a cold wet spring. Came back from the grocery store yesterday to find a family in our driveway eating them (the nerve!). Also pruned a lot of dead wood. Pitted everything I picked, six cups worth, which feels good. More to pick, but that’s a good morning’s work anyway.

I was so disappointed to learn that our local auto auction went to private sales only.  So annoying that I have to pay a middleman to look at more than one car at a time.  the auto auction made it so easy to pick up a car and have fun doing it.  Now I have to deal with useless car salespeople who add nothing to the experience or spend time wandering from personal sale to personal sale deciding if this is the car I want.

Grumble.  Oh well, at least its Friday and work will be over soon for another week and, as a bonus, next week is a short one!

Yay!  Part time work is so much better when you have a baby.  Hopefully it will help with more sleep for you!

I make frequent use of the filters and block buttons there.

Cherries came in here about 2 weeks ago. I picked half a bushel and spent 4 days pitting, then made jam. So worth it.  In fact, bread and jam sounds like an excellent idea for lunch. It is to hot to cook, or even warm up anything.

Can't tell if actually angry or just being cheeky. I can see it either way.

One of the things I hated most that my grandparents did was cut down the cherry trees on their property. They had 3 trees in their yard, 4 trees in the church yard, and 2 in my aunt's yard. Getting free, fresh, wholly ripened cherries every year was wonderful. It was one of the highlights of summer to just go up the road and gorge ourselves on them for about a week.

But then one year my grandfather took a chainsaw to every tree on their property - cherry, plum, and maple, all of them gone in about a week. The reason? They had red spider mites. Which are bad, but easily treatable. Except my grandfather didn't even want to attempt treating them, because he didn't like seeing them at all, so he just decided to get rid of the trees instead. Seriously, when anyone asked him about why he cut them down his answer was "I didn't like seeing those little red bugs." And if you asked if he tried to figure out how to get rid of them he'd say "Why would I? It was easier to just cut down the trees."

Ugh... I've eaten an unreasonable amount of Indian Chicken Salad, there's every possibility I might explode.

And somehow I still have a huge bowl of it left for tomorrow.
