Wow. Somebody’s sure going through the archives. I just got repped on a six-year-old thread.

I assume that's @Iridil. I've been enjoying going back and looking at old threads as they find/like them... And I've also appreciated the (to my knowledge) utter lack of threadomancy. Class act.

1.5 hours of work left.

Ordered Turkish take out for lunch. Yummy, but now I want a nap.

Dinner tonight at a Thai place.

Home again.

We got in early in the evening and after unpacking the car sort of fell apart for a few hours.

Good Nights Sleep in our own bed [not to hard, not to soft, just right].

Next week we drive over 400 miles one way for a concert.

In the meantime, I have an idea for an entry for ReaperCon.  Have to take some measurements on a figure to see if it will work.

Today I put all my Prismacolor pencils in order and catalogued which ones were missing (surprisingly few, ... one, in fact ...).

In the course of which I discovered at least four different eras of Prismacolor pencil,  datable by the different typefaces used on the things. The oldest ones (my 120-pencil set, the full range “New for the ‘90s”) have a plain round font and say “Berol”. Slightly later ones (the 48-pencil set, I think it was) are the same, except the numbers identifying the colors are in a bigger, fancier, kind of art deco font. Later ones have a smaller, rectangular font and no company on the pencil. And later ones than that have the rectangular font and say Sanford.

I really like my Prismacolor pencils.

And now I have a fifth generation. PingosHusband was making a trip to Michaels and offered to pick up my missing ones from open stock. Little did either of us realize what a chore that would be. Anyhow, he’s back with them and they have an entirely new typeface and layout again. Interestingly, they now have the color name printed on in both English and French, and they came ... sorta ... pre-sharpened to a blunt little point. No more accidentally starting on the wrong end, I guess.

I woke up yesterday evening to Baby trying to eat my hand. Earlier in the day she had snuggled into my armpit and tried to eat that. Babies are weird.

Oh yeah, she slept in her crib all of three days before we had to give that up again. We'll get there eventually. Hopefully. Someday.

Le sigh.

Right now the plan for after we move is for me to get a part time gig until Baby is weened. Working full time is wearing me down. I'm looking forward to one day being able to think about hobbying again.

Brigid loved the taste of Daddy's fingers. ::P: Om nom nom!

I was also amazed at how much of an escape artist she was, and how early the escaping began. (Month Two, if I am remembering properly, She could get out of her crib before she could walk.)

***

No game tonight - Megan and I are hitting Port Con and then the Greek Food Festival. (Or maybe the Greek Food Festival and then Port Con.)

***

The meeting last night went a lot more smoothly than I had expected - it seems that we have been working around Dave and Lily, rather than with them. Without them... a lot of things that needed discussions ad nauseam could be handled with a simple mention and a call of hands. (Each year, they would ask for clarifications of The Same Things That Did Not Change From Year To Year.)

Where they will actually be missed is in regards to bringing in speakers - on topics including Pagan Membership in Law Enforcement and the Military. (Which I never got to hear, but have always wanted to sit in on. It had a very good reception every year - though with many members of the audience going every year. There are indeed some pagans in local law enforcement.)

And Megan is now on the board - as the only true pagan in the local group. (She made the mistake of being the First Available Person for the role. I would use the acronym, but... it seems way too apropos, sometimes. ::P: ) The rest of the group is Unitarian or manages to be both Pagan and Unitarian at the same time. We need to have at least one voice that only represents the pagan community.

Keith has decided not to purchase the campground - ceding it to a member of the A2U2 church advisory board. He claimed that he wants to avoid potential conflict of interest, but, really, I just don't think he was interested in owning a campground, at least in the current economy.

The fish that he has on the hook person he is bringin on board owns and manages several campgrounds already - I think this will be his fourth.

Which separates site ownership from the board of the Retreat - which could have looked dodgy, if handled badly.

Keith is, however, remaining as Site Manager for the Retreat.

The Auld Grump - a very relaxed meeting - it is amazing how big a difference losing two members of the board could affect the attitudes of the entire group.

But what's fun in that?

I LIKED the look on Grump's face when he Googled Halfling Webcomic on my machine and got Alfie! And it turned out I LOVE Alfie! Halfling porn webcomic for the win! ::D:

The business potluck last night was festive.

Dave and Lily leaving made things run a lot more smoothly, but now I have been officially brought on board to give the board an official pure pagan member without Dave and Lily. The board will have a bored board pagan on board. <_<

Keith ISN'T taking over the campground, one of the members of the Unitarian board owns three campgrounds already, so has the experience and separates Keith from conflict of interest. I don't think anyone other than Keith would have CARED, but he did, so he didn't. Plus he has two UP kids, is a minister, AND has a day job, so he wouldn't have had time.

I need to ask Grump the recipe for his stuffed peppers. I THINK I figured out the ingredients, which means I am learning how to taste out a recipe. ^_^ I think he used ground lamb and some wild rice, and some grain thing I didn't really recognize. More of a rice pilaf than a Spanish rice. Maybe a Greek recipe?

Looks like I should have read the more recent posts before posting. ::P:

I could have just posted a ^ What She Said ^

*EDIT* I find it interesting that both of us have a lingering annoyance with Dave & Lily, but for different reasons, at least somewhat.

*EDIT* For the record - when I discovered Alfie, I was looking for http://yamara.com/  which used to run in Dragon Magazine. ::P: *EDIT 2* Linking on this forum software is often less than optimal. <_<

But I immediately realized that Megan would enjoy Alfie - it is very well done, even if it is porn - it is porn with an actual plot and engaging characters! ::o: And the porn both drives the story and is driven by the story! Just really, really well done - but in no way, shape, or form is it safe for work, children, grandmothers.... One of the covers is the wallpaper on Megan's Fire. (At least on her old Fire, I don't know about the new one.)

No internet at home at the moment - new service starting tomorrow afternoon.

Sammy got a Face Full of Corgis the other day.

They bounced around him, and he handled it the way he handles a lot of things - turning around three times and then *Flop!*

Which put his face at Corgi tongue height.  ::P:

I make frequent use of the filters and block buttons there.

Cherries came in here about 2 weeks ago. I picked half a bushel and spent 4 days pitting, then made jam. So worth it.  In fact, bread and jam sounds like an excellent idea for lunch. It is to hot to cook, or even warm up anything.

Our cherry tree is a dwarf variety, owing to our minuscule city front yard, and produces a modest amount of sour pie cherries, enough for our family’s tastes for a year or so. Usually that means a couple of pies or a big set of breakfast turnovers, a black forest cake, some glazed cornish hen and jam to be used on ice cream, tarts, cookies etc.

Just watched yesterdays Reaper Live.  The ReaperCon Sophie Sculpt is fantastic.

Couldn't watch it when it was live because we were making our way through the Tehachapi Mountains when it was on.

Bones 5 will go live while we are still on the road home from ReaperCon.

Ron Hawkins for President!

Anybody up for Campaign Buttons?

I think a ReaperCon UK would be a totally awesome idea.:winkthumbs:

GEM

Should we lobby Reaper to do an "Ed Sculpts" add on for the Kickstarter?

We rent a cherry tree. The orchard owner has all the fun of maintaining, netting and watering it. Then we get a "window" of 10 days in mid-July when we can pick all the ripe cherries, any that mature after that belong to the farmer. We've done this for 4 years now and have come home with 40 - 60 lb of cherries each time. We eat ourselves sick and then the beloved wife makes the most wonderful jam; thick as tar and strongly laced with cinnamon.

It's easy to find fresh local cherries here, but I'd be interested in the jam recipe!  ::D:

I've had a week of migraines, off and on. We have a wedding to go to tomorrow and I really don't want to miss another one this year because of it.

Nieces are coming into town Sunday for a couple weeks. Can't wait to see them, haven't seen them since Christmas.

I'll ask my other half, but I fear it comes under the category of "state secret", along with the brisket rub and Christmas cake.
