Feb 15:  Where is the best place to get chocolate today?

There's a shipment scheduled to be transfered from the docks to a local distribution center around 5 pm. My sources tell me it's two full trailers running in a convoy. The drivers always stop at the same truck stop for dinner on I80 before they drop off. Window of opportunity is 30-45 mins and the trucks are unguarded.

I said Dark Chocolate, not Milk Chocolate.  And I have had a 'Stache for over 40 years.

My local grocery store was all but picked clean at 1730 hrs. Seriously, 16 feet of empty shelf space, floor to top shelf.

The local CVS.

Local stores should have some, heading to Walmart today so I'll check. Should have a bit of time, though they seem quick to switch out to the next season (Easter, in this case).

True.

My son (who happens to work at the above mentioned CVS) reports that they already have Easter candy out, as of yesterday.

Several stores in my areas have had Cadbury eggs since Christmas.

That was my experience at HEB yesterday. Cap'n John & I stopped by on our way back from Llano. there were three bags of truffles on the shelves at one (1300).

I did take two of the Lindor truffle bags & a bag of KitKats that was $2 off...the truffles were full price though...it's all The Donald's fault.

Here in frozen Ottawa, there is a family-owned German chocolatier that has been around for decades.  They make amazing chocolate and cakes, all in house.  Simply amazing.  Otherwise, the stuff you get from Purdy's (chain of fancy chocolate) is pretty darn good too.  Their "Turtles" equivalent are mouth-wateringly delicious!

There is no shortage of chocolate here.

Every supermarket or candy store sells good chocolate, no sales though.

Fred Meyers had tons of chocolates still. I got two Whitman's samplers, a large Reese's heart, a bag of little Reese's hearts, a bag of caramel kisses, and a bag of "lava cake" kisses (gooey chocolate on the inside).

I also got three pairs of half price valentines socks.

Went to Walmart yesterday, Easter candy was already migrating to the shelves where the Valentine's candy was cleared out. As for Dollarama, well.......they've had Easter items up since the beginning of January. They like to get a 2-3 month jump on any holiday, even when they have current holiday stuff still up on the shelves.

Not much for hot drinks but I do drink a fair bit of iced tea when eating out. I think south of the border our iced tea is like american sweet tea.
