Tea: hot or cold?

Cold. Never was able to stand the taste of hot tea.

Room temperature, but then poured** over Ice, so 32°F (**by someone else, I have no means available of making Tea myself).

Pretty much Zink’s first sentence

Not much for hot drinks but I do drink a fair bit of iced tea when eating out. I think south of the border our iced tea is like american sweet tea.

I cannot abide “American Sweet Tea” especially if HFCS was used as the sweetener.

It starts hot, then gradually gets colder, while I get distracted, depending on the amount left in the cup, I might finish it off even at ice coldness just for tidyness sake, now excuse me while I got hunt around the house for at least 5 missing mugs. (Yes I drink my tea in a mug)

I found 7 ::D:

Those little blue strings that look like spaghetti straps are kinda ruining this for me.  :blues:

Feb 14: Valentine's Day: Love it, Loathe it, or Meh?

We think it's an over-rated and over-marketed event, but pretty much all events are like that nowadays.

People are allowed to enjoy things they like, but I hope that they don't just stick to one day a year!

My love and I tend to use holidays as "bunker down with good food and cuddle indoors until the crowds disperse" time.

He doesn't think he's good at creative and romantic things, so he usually doesn't try. But other times, he tries really hard and it just makes me love it even more. This is what I found this morning!

Oooh. Goodness. I love tea. It really does depend on my mood and the day.

My absolute favorite tea is hot jasmine green tea, sometimes with a little bit of honey. I keep some loose leaf tea at home for mood boosting. :)

I love milk tea with boba too! So good. I generally ask for half sweetness, since it can get pretty ridiculous.

Sweet iced tea is great, provided that it's not 80% syrup.

Those are the cords he used to tie the flag to his arms.

Hot.

In fact, boiling when first poured.

I LOVE Arizona Iced Green Tea.

Otherwise I don't normally drink tea. I associate it with British Folks, Old Ladies...Old Crazy Linda's Grandma, Nanny, LOVED her cup of tea with lemon & honey,

AND being sick...my Mom would give me hot tea whenever I was sick as a boy.

Tea: hot or cold?

Yes.

There is a time and place for both.

At work, I tend to drink hot tea because it's easier than trying to manage cold tea.  I make it about a liter at a time (my thermos is 0.95 liters or something like that).  The water cooler has a hot water tap.

At home, I usually drink cold tea because I can make it 2 liters at a time and it takes longer to warm to room temperature than hot tea takes to cool.  (For the curious, cold tea is 1 liter of tea, double strength, poured into a 2 liter pitcher, which is then filled with ice and shaken.  I have two Takeya tea pitchers for this.  I could also just cold steep it in the refrigerator.)  When I have a cold, I tend to switch to hot tea.

I have some teas that are good hot but not cold (e.g. some Earl Grey blends), some that are better cold than hot (e.g. some fruity green teas), and some that are good either way (e.g. some jasmine and mint teas).

This reminds me that I need to make a new batch of (cold) tea.

Tea can only be properly prepared with boiling water at 100 degrees C.

At high altitudes water boils below this temperature.

It is not commonly realised that Sir Edmund Hilary got his knighthood, not for climbing Mount Everest, but for enduring badly made tea during the expedition.

I used to drink that...!...pale jade green bottle?

There was also one in a dark blue bottle I was partial to.

But is it sweetened with honey or cane sugar? Once again; gryffyn confused.

I'm not crazy about Valentine's Day, but the wife loves all holidays, so I play along.

Generally speaking, I prefer iced tea and iced coffee, but I'm willing to drink them hot.

I miss when those actually came in glass bottles...  Nowadays it's most just cans, or... paper cartons.  The glass bottles are hard to find around here.
