[George Takei] Oh, my.... [/George Takei]

That milkmaid... oh, dear. I see a villain, there. Vampire, werewolf, playing the ingenue.

That druid... she wants to do what comes naturally?

The bard... entertainer. Showing cleavage is a way of getting more money - she may not even have a good voice, but she gets great tips? Probably the easiest to explain of the bunch.

But that wagon is awesome.

Based onthe first one, I'm curious, but would REALLY like to see these in hand before I decide if I wanna back this one.

^^This.

My concern at the moment, is that he is promoting/advertising a new kickstarter, but is not addressing status of the first KS in his updates. Will the first one be on time? No clue. I don't want to back a second until I see how the first set comes out.

I agree. I’d like to hear what the original backers think about their minis first.

Black Hallows Townsfolk II - Release date

Hello All,

We thought we'd give you a heads up on our release plans for the Townsfolk II range. We are planning on releasing them imminently....

Firstly, we want to say that we understand that some of you may be worried that releasing this next project could interfere with the production of the first set of Townsfolk - please do not be worried. We are Kickstarter backers ourselves, and we were backers before we became creators, which is why we try to be as open with you and give you as much information on production as possible.  As you can imagine, the two projects are at different stages; there is no studio work to be done on the first set now, it's all about physical production, inspection, packing and shipping. That is all handled by the workshop team. While production has been happening, we have had a number of guys working on the development of the Townsfolk II range in the studio. This is the design, research and computer based work, which is where the next project will be for the next 2 months (approx).

So, with that said, our plan is to release the next range of Townsfolk (take a look at the image below!) on Sunday 17th of February!

Townsfolk II includes 7 townsfolk characters, 3 hero character add-ons, 2 horses and carts (a standard cart and gaol cart) and the Boar's Head Tavern and stables. We have planned another set of stretch goals and add-ons for you. (For more photos check out the Z1 Design Facebook page.)

We are also pleased to be able to share more from the world of Black Hallows, with an exciting collaboration with dark fantasy author Tom G. H. Adams, who is working on the first book of the Black Hallows. This will be available as an add-on and will give you a real insight into the darkness that lies beneath. It will also introduce you to more of the characters in the Black Hallows game (to be released later).

One of the things we're most keen to share with you, are the buildings. For example, we'd like to welcome you to The Boar's Head Tavern, where you can sup the finest ale, while listening to the latest news of distant lands and maybe talk a little business with a passing ranger. Each of the buildings have playable areas; for example, the tavern has a cellar, bar area and attic space; the stables have an upper room above the stalls. We love our RPG nights, so we will also be providing an RPG scenario/ one-shot to go with each of them (this includes each new building that release in the future too). Players will be able use any system (D&D, Pathfinder or GURPS) with them. We may even get round to streaming some of our games!

One new development for this set of Townsfolk, is that we'll be offering the 3D print files for the buildings.

Some of you have also asked via social media, where the Black Hallows Townsfolk  range is ultimately leading.... we will be explaining more about that on the Townsfolk II campaign page.

As ever, if you have any questions, please get in touch with us, either via Kickstarter, email, or any of our social media channels.

Best wishes,

The Z1 Design Team.

Well, that reply was definitely in the Plus column.

And that wagon is definitely tempting. Between that wagon and the Gothic furniture in Terrain Crate 2... I wonder how Megan would feel about a Ravenloft campaign. (Running or playing, I'm not picky. ::P:)

The Auld Grump - I really did have an instant idea for Ravenloft when I saw that wagon... creaking slowly through the town, while the townsfolk pretend not to see it, and look away.

Well, physical buildings made of resin (and I can't see them settling for anything that's not fully 3D) do weigh a fair bit.

I for one wouldn't want to be a UK company having to explain to US backers on Kickstarter that if you're running an actual business based on actual numbers, shipping to the US isn't actually as domestic rates cheap as Mantic always pretends. For resin, it's going to be more like MBA to UK rates expensive.

As such, given 3D printers seem to be far enough past the early adopter stage that STL file Kickstarters are cropping up like weeds anyways, not trucking with physical buildings and the inevitable shipping cost discussion probably is much easier.

Now I'm very curious* about the wagon(s). At first glance I thought the new one just had a top removed, however it is more than that. The first showed a cage, and had different wheels and other small differences. It also had four horses (though on closer look only two models). The second has the same horses, and (I think) the same driver. I wonder if one is an earlier prototype, or if they are planning on producing both. I'd love both, but if they are only making one I hope it's the earlier one. I've seen open wagons before, but never a paddy wagon, and the four horses give it an entirely different feel.

*I originally wrote curios...while I meant curious, curios might have almost been appropriate, since I am indeed intrigued.

"I had to go to the forest at the break of dawn to harvest rare mushrooms and herbs. Sadly, I'm not a morning person and forgot to put on clothes under my apron"

Maybe she lives in a very warm, humid climate. You never know!

Rather sad I missed their first KS. Yes, a town of supermodels, but I am a collector, I like minis of all sorts; I can't discriminate against the genetically gifted, can I? I will await this upcoming one eagerly.
