Paedia paints Cerebria: The Inside World

Recommended Posts

[Warning: lots of images incoming]

Next up on my table are the miniatures from Cerebria: The Inside World, a boardgame from Mindclash Games in which the forces of Bliss and Gloom vie for control of an evolving personality.

I'm going to try to do these two at a time (one from each team); the first two will be Harmony and Malice.

Session 2

Harmony

With the airbrush, I did base+shading of the wings and base of the body. Colors used:

- Twilight Blue

- Snow Shadow

- Surf Aqua

- Violet Light

- Sunset Purple

- Maggot White

Malice

For malice, I'm starting with the NMM-bronze-ish body. I base coated with Khaki Shadow, then used Ghoul Skin and Moldy Skin for initial highlighting. Shadows are Woodstain Brown and NMM Gold Shadow (which I am not that fond of for Gold, but seems to work well here). Any other color recommendations? I finished up the session with basing the skirt in Redstone.

A great start! Never heard of this game, but I like the Psychonauts x Inside Out idea (and those sculpts, and your painting) very much indeed!

I haven't gotten it to the table for a play yet (just came in from Kickstarter). However, from the rules, it appears to be a really heavy crunchy area-control/card play strategy game - which is the kind of game I really like. Here's a link to the BGG entry for it: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/218479/cerebria-inside-world

Did some more airbrush work on Harmony's body and based the "hair". Unfortunately, I forgot to get a good picture under my light. I did notice some overspray on the right top wing. I'll fix that up when I switch to brush work.

I forgot to ask in the post, but does anyone have recommendations for what to use to shade and highlight Redstone? I have the full triad, but I'd like to bump up the contrast a bit more.

Got more work done on Harmony. Hair is mostly there, as is the edging on her wings. Did a purple wash on her body, but still need to pick out some details.

Colors:

Hair topmost highlight: 09276 Vampiric Highlight

Wings edging/hands/ears:

09163-09165 Dark Elf Skin Triad + a small amount of 09021: Snow Shadow

You are too kind. This is the first project where I feel like I've begun to grok using the airbrush for more than priming and basecoating.

Well, I haven't even gotten priming and base coating down. Lol.

Finished with Harmony. Just need to varnish and remove the masking from her base (I decided to keep the bases free of paint for easy identification on the board.

Got the copper work and the NMM-ish-not-sure-what-metal-it-actually-would-be bits (the cube-pelvis thing, the shoulder pads, and neck piece) done. I will probably tackle the green bits next, but not totally sure.

Neck and face done (minus the eye glow). Green bits are mostly done; however, after a day of drying, it is a bit duller than I was desiring. I may put a glaze of a brighter green over the green bits.

Finished Malice's skirt/loincloth thing and also glazed the green bits with some Retro Emerald. Last bits to finish is brush work to punch up the NMM on his body.

Another Bones 4 elf. Painted her pale and edgy, perfect for the moody lone wolf PC in the party.

A very fun paint job, working on 2 types of NMM for the weapons and armour.

The NMM is a bit rough up close, but I'm happy enough with it when views from a distance. The free hand also came out pretty well. This is probably the most complex free hand I've done.

Still some basing to do and could probably improve my blendingg but overall super happy with the result.

(Note: this is a follow up to the recently delivered Batman Gotham City Chronicles which is based on their Conan game engine, and lets you pick up the existing content if you didn't get it before, plus the new season 2 content)

Batman™: Gotham City Chronicles is a mission-based miniatures board game where 2 to 4 players control the Dark Knight and his allies in their never-ending battle against crime through an asymmetrical and open game system.

Each game involves an action-packed fight where two sides face off. One of the players assumes the role of the Villain and controls the most notorious criminals of Gotham City. The remaining players take control of the Heroes, who must work together as a team to foil the Villain’s plots. Each side takes turns, pitting their strategies against each other in order to achieve their objectives.

[NOTE the core box image above is taken from the first KS so the 'stretch' tags are irrelevant, I've done so as the current KS doesn't show the contents as fully]

Batman™: Gotham City Chronicles Season 2’s primary focus is Versus mode.

Adventure mode racked up 42 missions in season 1, is still supported with 9 NEW missions in season 2. And, some of the new season 2 characters can also be used in S1 core box adventure mode missions.

Finally, all season 2 characters come with their own tile, opening up a wider Versus mode selection pool for the 10 NEW versus mode missions.

I'm taking the leap and about to buy my first airbrush for mini painting and was hoping I could get some advice on what to buy. The Airbrushing: compendium has been very helpful and I've spent hours, days, what feels like years researching and I want to pull the trigger... I live in Canada and after ringing around some hobbyshops etc it seems amazon is the best bang for my buck. I have paint and access to a Campbell Hausfeld 2 Gallon Air Compressor (I will purchase another compressor in a few months once I have some more disposable income). My main concerns are does this compressor work with the airbrush listed below, do I need anything else? Heres what I've got in mind:   NEO CN GRAVITY-FEED DUAL-ACTION AIRBRUSH $97.20 CAD Paasche 10-foot Nylon Braided Hose $18 CAD Airbrush Cleaner 4 Kit, Washing Tools - Glass Cleaning Pot etc $22 CAD Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner 85ml $7 CAD   any advice would be appreciated
