Your minis are way better than my first attempts ever were, keep it up! And swing by the Painting Tips and Advice subforum, the posts and sticky threads have a slew of helpful resources within them. Some might consider it the lost Library of Alexandria... if, you know, that library were focused on painting minis.

Great job on your first minis - I love the wood grain on the orc's shield. You've also got nice clean lines already. If you are interested in a more worn look for your leather, check out some videos on stippling. Pretty easy technique that gives a really nice effect.

You mentioned you don't have any background in this.

That makes this even better, you have a good brush control from the look of it.

Keep this up, paint more and you will have some great painted minis.
