Ivanetta Kozlov, Russian Sniper (50226)

Recommended Posts

This implausibly zaftig Soviet lady (50226) has been painted up for well over a year, but I didn't want to take pictures until I had a good background. The propaganda posters for the Moon Communists took care of that problem, though! Comrade Kozlov comes with some rubble, timbers and a brick wall, which I elected to use as set dressing, A few coffee stirrers made a barricade of the right height for her to lean on. Give her a line of sight down the Stalingrad streets and she will be Death in high boots.

I'm not even going to make a pretense towards accuracy on the uniform. I just like that pale greyish purple. (I think it was Slaanesh "grey" mixed with a drop of dark blue or maybe purple wash).

It is never a good idea to play a alternate history video game when you own a 3d printer and love history. My first mini off the the printer is the T95 tank destroyer It was an American prototype. This is in 1/100 scale and it is big for that scale.
It will need to be cured tomorrow and cleaned up for assembly.
Here it is mock assembled next to a Flames of war 76mm Sherman.

Currently working on tiger 2, 105 Pershing and E-100 Turrets. The hulls will come after that.
Now to find a good looking Maus Stl .

I finally finished some of the WWII German tanks that I have in the stash. These are a bit on the unusual side even for the Germans. The 21st Panzer Division was part of the German’s D-Day defenses but had not really been properly equipped. Major Alfred Becker converted Obsolete French tanks and carriers to help equip the Division.
These are from Mad Bob Miniatures, they are all resin and only require a bit of assembly. The resin is a bit on the soft side and the longer gun had to be straightened. The castings are a bit rough as well but since they are gaming pieces I didn’t take the time to smooth things out,  just normal prep. I would have liked something a bit more detailed but, for the price and the amount of use they will see, they are about perfect.

Here are the ones I have completed so far:

Starting off with the mSPW S307(f) with a Pak 40 ATG

Then 3 self propelled artillery pieces, SdKfz 135/1 “Lorraine Schlepper”

These are relatively small vehicles so they don’t need a lot of storage room. Since they are open topped they will be getting a few crew figures at some point as well. The 135/1 should have a blade in the back to absorb recoil when the gun is fired. I’m still considering scratch building these because they seem a bit incomplete right now.

Fishfolk Fisherman and Fishfolk Fishwife from Crooked Dice. The fisherman, in oilskins and sou'wester, is a perfect blend of the Gorton's mascot and his product. The bug-eyed fishwife with cleaver was a delight to paint, especially the Atlantic salmon.

A shot of some of the Waite Fish Packing Concern's employees, featuring some old friends from RatTrap and BlackCat:

The Real Housewives of Innsmouth (including a repurposed Bonnie, 50293, with improvements upon her previous appearance):

and one of just the fellas:

Golly gee willikers I love painting fishmen. Special credit also to the Dreadmere Fishing Boat, 44032, the perfect touch for the setting.

My love for pulp, and particularly pulp aviators and aviatrices, is well-known. So this cheesecake propaganda pinup poster Sophie had to be. I was very glad indeed to see it back in production. Love everything about this sculpt from hair to boots. But you didn't come here to read; you came for the pictures!

      Morale-boosting appearances for different branches

Plus one for the Kaiju Corps...

and a couple for the brainy boys in the white coats. (Hey, if we're already surfing bombs, might as well go full Strangelove.)

Guest appearances by 80070 and some Artizan Thrilling Tales figs, 50075, some Murch Pulp sailors,  a Nolzur's water elemental, a Pacific Rim action figure, and a repurposed plastic egg. I also replaced Sophie's wings with some smaller wings I had lying around; I have a plan for those larger wings and a larger devil.

      Thanks for checking in!

Now THIS is a Pulp Hero! An incredibly burly, fiercely-mustached Sikh with a chain-fed brass-jacketed machine gun. NorthStar UK lists him as Gagan Kayal; the American outlet Brigade Games lists him as Mohan Singh in their "Lord Curr's Company" set. Either way, a powerhouse with incredible style and devastating firepower. I roughed up the barrel of the gun with some Typhus Corrosion before painting it; the original sculpt is smoother.

His arm hair is sculpted on, and after that, I'd be remiss not to give him some good chest and shoulder hair.

The time period is fairly ambiguous to one who, like me, is not a firearms historian, so the good Mr. Kayal can work from the turn of the previous century...

to the middle of said century.

Special guest appearances by 50029, British Colonial Riflemen, 50193, Thuggee Cultist, and 50221, Nazi Zombie Officer (and his Artizan co-workers).
