DSM8018, Brave Sir Robin the Scaredy Cat

Hi everyone, here's the penultimate Cat Critter, Brave Sir Robin in its shinny golden armor. This three-piece model was sculpted by Dave Summers for Dark Sword Miniatures, Critter Kingdoms Anthropomorphic Animals line.  I've fixed the tail to the body before painting it, but painted the shield before gluing it to the model.

Brave Sir Robin is one of the first minis I finished, and still one of my favorites. 

 

Of course, mine doesn't come anywhere close to what you've done here.    

 

You even got the details on the butterfly!

Hiding behind your shield is a perfectly normal reaction for cats when WOOF unleashes the Chihuahua Cavalry mounted on Pittbulls.

I'm glad you like it, thanks for the comments. Brave Sir Robin was not part of my cultural background. I've learned about it while looking for information about the story behind the model design. Who said we could not learn new things while painting?

With its big eyes, for me the insect that landed on the shield is a dragonfly, that's the reason why I painted its body blue and I was aiming for a transparent effect on the wings.

A Dragonfly have long wings with broader back wings than front wings, if Wikipedia is to be trusted. 

Then again, I've never seen a butterfly with such big eyes.
