Leather Queen Pin-up

Recommended Posts

kPiSlSU.jpgX4Ns1Gz.jpg

Presenting the Leather Queen, a Pin-up version of the Leather Armoured Survivors from Kingdom Death, hopefully she's wearing just enough to not need a nudity link.

I'm pretty out of practice painting Pin-ups so she's a little rough around the edges, and I never could figure out a way to make her hair look like hair, but at least it's another one finally finished.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

As always, I admire your skin painting and the smoothness of your colors.

Looks like she's already prepared to brexit, isn't she? (Which once again reminds me of my early military days ... light infantry is anything ... but light)

That hair is bizarre. Gives a new, expanded, meaning to the phrase ‘Big Hair’. The skin tones are superb

:winkthumbs:

For hair you could desaturate the colours a little

AND/OR

Paint some deeper shadows

AND/OR

You could also make more thin lines going in the direction of the hair flow (I would do it with a dark  to black brown)

Thanks for the advice!

I did try option 3 when I was highlighting her hair, but it looked weird so I painted over it, I don't think I got the lines thin enough.

"Umm... Guys, I think I've found our missing team members."

Presenting the Cleric, part of the second Echoes of Death set from Kingdom Death, not sure why she has such a gruesome base insert, none of the others came with one.

Disappointingly, she looks pretty terrible in the piccys. Honestly, apart from her decidedly wonky eyes, I thought I'd done a fairly good job.

Presenting the Storm Knight from Kingdom Death.

Second time tackling this one (I like it that much!), I think I prefer my newer, colourful version but I still struggled to do a decent job on his cloud cape, I think it needs more time and effort put into it than I have the patience for.

Spent the last three days doing new techniques I've never done before. First-time face texturing, using an airbrush, and first time NMM.

I made this model at a Reaper Bones make & take at Historicon 2015(?).  I really enjoyed making him and thought he turned out well and had plans to paint him one day......and then the Secret Sophie came along and my recipient wanted a cool monster or creature and I thought this model fit the bill in spades.   The main model I used is KAGUNK, OGRE CHIEFTAIN (https://www.reapermini.com/search/ogre/latest/77105), armed with a demonic looking whip, using a sarcophagus lid as a shield (https://www.reapermini.com/search/crypt/latest/77137), legs from...something (gryphon maybe), spines from a small dragon, and some various heads as trophies around his waist.

I decided to name him Takzez and have given him two brief write ups - one as a bad guy and one as a good guy.  However, I do want to have the receiver to have something to himself and he can let me know later if he'd like me to share that info or not later.  But in the meantime, here he is.  Apologies for the photos, I rushed as it is already late.

I do wish I'd had more time to work on his skin and legs, although the skin turned out tons better than my first attempt at it.  Oh wow, I am going to hit that inner bottom corner on the shield with a was a few times before I send it.

      C&C welcome!

The Screaming Antelope is one of the core monsters of Kingdom Death: Monster.  And the fact that you can get so many fine resources from it makes it one of the most hunted creatures in the setting.
For this paintjob, I wanted to move away from both the grey standard color scheme for the antelope and away from the red "skinned antelope" look I've often seen.
All together, I feel like this came out really well.
The base is constructed from apoxie sculpt and green stuff.
