Suggest me some minis

Recommended Posts

Yow!

I am looking for three types of minis and I just haven't been able to find any:

- Giant fly

- Giant cockroach

- Mongrelmen (Basically all kinds of humanoids with animal/insect bits. Think half lizard/human, a female with centipede bits sticking out, etc. I am hoping to find a good kit that I can swap legs/arms, etc. around on

Anyone any advice? Thanks!

PS: Like this, but I want like 10 different ones :)

For giant insects, you can look at various children's toys or novelty items. Insect Tubes, "plastic realistic bugs", and the like.

No suggestions for mongrelmen.

On amazon or ebay you can search for fake fly and get some options. For mongrelmen the first thin that came to mind was kitbashing Frostgrave cultists and gnolls with GW Skaven plague monks and ungors. They don't have the insect parts but if you bought one of the tubes Doug mentioned you might be able to chop up bits off them. There's probably a plastic set somewhere with some useful bits for that too but I can't think of any right now.

Reaper has a lot of anthropomorphic figures, but the search feature only brings up a few at a time.  http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Anthropomorphic/latest

The ones that come in Bones will be easiest to cut up and remodel.

Also look up Creature Components I & II, and dragonman conversion kit.

Not sure how big you want the fly but Reaper 2744 is a nice size. It's a demon, but it has enough fly characteristics that do use it as a normal fly.

In the Reaper store I'd suggest checking out the Dregs; 03688 and 03687.

I really like 03688, 03687 really smells 'ghoul' to me.

I have all those Bones ones. The component kits is damn useful! I might grab those. Shipping to EU might make it a bit inefficient, but still. :)

That would be a medium sized one, 25mm base. Good suggestion thanks!

Look for some of the old Citadel Chaos minis for Mongrelmen, or maybe some of the more recent Oldhammer type releases.

Reaper has a Fly Demon for a giant fly - both a metal one and a different Bones model -

Ral Partha/Iron Wind has or had a plague knight mounted on a giant fly, and another knight mounted on a giant bee.
