I too really like the trees, and they appear to offer them separately via their first pledge level ("Reforestation"). However, it appears to be $65 for two trees (plus $15 shipping). Ouch. Did I get that right?

Am I just stupid or does the "all-in" pledge (not early bird) cost five dollars more than the backer's choice pledge plus the reforestation add-on?

Yeah, they added the Backer's Choice pledge after people asked for it. Not sure if they messed up the price, or what, but it does come out to cheaper if you do it that way.

Sure wish someone would make some panicked generic fantasy townsfolk. I mean, goblins raiding the fields, right?? 

 

Creator's previous project was cancelled, making this a First Created project.

The main game has three trees plus a bunch of other stuff for $110 bucks.  If you wanted more trees it makes more sense to just get two base games and go bananas with the extra monkeys.

 

The previous project they ran was a staggeringly unsuccessful zombicide clone.

 

I am also wary of Kickstarters with licensed Fox IP (ahem cough prodos AvP...) as just bad luck.

They've said today that they plan on lowering the price of the reforestation box. I'm not sure how that's going to work since it would affect the all in price and you can't change a pledge tier once it has backers in it. They have been pretty responsive to questions and concerns however.

 

Here's what they said about the first campaign; "WYSIWYGames launched a KS over last the year to help a game already made to be funded to produce other chapters for this boardgame but the KS had been finaly canceled because the offer didn't match a KS campain. This boardgame had been well sold through retailers instead In France and Belgium."

 

I'm not entirely sure if that means they took the expansions to retail instead of using Kickstarter, or if they're saying the campaign didn't do well because the game was available retail.

I've seen a few comments on one of the boardgame groups i'm part of on facebook from people who said they'd played a prototype at a convention and not been impressed with the gameplay, anecdotal but worth keeping in mind that it may not stand up if you intend to back for more that looting the minis

While I do not wish to be unduly negative, I am frankly surprised this funded at all, and will be even more surprised should be stay funded.  It's been treading water for a couple of days.

It unfunded yesterday, and continues bleeding backers. A damn shame because I would have loved to get those minis.

Hopefully they'll listen to the constructive comments, cancel now and return in September with a better structured and realistic campaign.

And I hope they won't lose the license in the mean time.

 

$65 for 2 trees? That means the three trees in the WAR box would amount to $90 of the total $110 cost. So a whole game without the trees for $20?
