I kind of like the idea of the storyteller ribbon, and my wife is encouraging me to do all of the things everyone has mentioned! She is the social butterfly in our relationship, but alas is unable to make it to Reapercon.

Is there a place to sign up for Forumite Bingo? Or is that just something for when we get there?

Pegasus run the bingo.  Shortly before the con, he will ask for forumites to volunteer to be put on the card.  He then randomizes the names on the card through some arcane process and then anyone who asks for one gets a card at RCon.

Wat ‘e sai’.

Basically, two ways of participating. Easiest of the two is to come find me at ReaperCon and ask for a bingo card. Meet the forumites on the card sufficient to achieve bingo and gain my Bingo! ribbon. Harder way is to volunteer to be on the cards, and have hoards of people come find you to say hello so they can get a Bingo! ribbon. That does involve me taking your picture and putting it into my ReaperDex (aka phone contacts) so I can remember what you look like when  someone says they can’t find you.

You are allowed to do both should you wish.

If all you want to do is play (rather than appear as a square on the bingo card), all you have to do is show up, and ask @Pegazus for a card. He's usually easy to find on day one, because he'll be surrounded by people asking for, and filling out, bingo cards.

@Zanderina just ordered the ribbons to pass out between the two of us, cause we wanna be cool kids too! We enjoyed collecting and meeting everyone via it.

Also how do we volunteer to be in the BINGO boards, just in case you need more peeps?

I expect @Pegazus to put up a thread soonish; if he hasn't already.

Er.... not really soonish. We're still more than two months away. Expect the sign up thread about 8/1, and closing around the 15th. I've got my card generating technique down, but I still need time just to collect forum icons, get the cards printed, cut, etc. And buttons again if I manage that little extra from last time.

I discovered something frustrating. No matter the cost of making ribbons, shipping them to Canada, even within Canada, is expensive.

Very few carriers can reach my remote address, so shipping is as expensive, if not *more* expensive than the cost of making the ribbons ($75 S/H for ~100 ribbons?! :grr:)

Fortunately, I found that if I ship to my mother's place (who lives near a major city), it's far less expensive, but nothing compared to the rates my US buddies can get.

[P.S. I'm still getting them. :B):]

We also used the PC / nametag dot com website.

Should be here in plenty of time before con. So excited that it just over 2 months away! Time to get those MSP entries done.

@Cranky Dog I don't suppose buying from a US based ribbon maker, and having them just delivered to the hotel might be an option?

The timing may prove to be a problem if there's any hint of a hiccup.

Receiving it before I arrive (no one by that name here today, send it back), or a day too late (following Monday), and it sort of defeats the whole purpose of getting them.

If you can get the company to include a note on the label something like, "Hold for arrival of guest < name > on < date >", there shouldn't be a problem (though talk to the hotel if you want to do this). It's a pretty common thing for business hotels.

Used to do this all the time with printed media for trade shows back when I was stuck on that team.
