If the pledges are $100 plus shipping each, that's $20 for a building. Much less than resin, less painting than MDF and 3D printing, but still more expensive than papercraft and 3D printing.

I'll bet it's more like £60-70 per building with maybe a couple smaller buildings together. £15-30 for the playmat. And smaller one sheet sets for £8-12. It is not cheap and the shipping is brutal too. Looks pretty though.

I'm curious why you think it'll be so high? They've already previewed the base pledges in the linked blog post, so "$20 per building" is just doing the math of "announced pledge price" ÷ "announced pledge contents".

£75 Village pledge:

Yeah each set will be £70-75 going be every other KS they have done.

Each sheet of card is £4 so additional addon items are costed accordingly if it takes 2 sheets then the add-on costs £8.

With their KS you get a ton of additional sheets as SG.

You get a lot of bang for your buck, shipping is high, but a single set weighs over 2.5kg.

Now the only questions are: is the playmat included (like it was with their dungeon terrain)? And: what about bushes and plants ;) ?

A 2ft by 2ft playmat is general standard. Bush's and plants probably not, the guys avoid making "Organic" scenery as it looks weird in card.

it's live ... playmat unfortunately NOT included (but add-on price is ok and I don't care that much - the pledge is worth the money in my opinion even without the mat - and there are stretch goals to come).

They didn't even include the play mats in a pledge, *sigh*, it looks like there's not as much to a pledge now either, that battlefield is pretty weak for content, SG's might make it more worth it but considering what the last Battlesystem KS cost me, (its NOT Canada friendly fyi) I'll pass on this one too. Looks cool, but I can make houses from dollar store foamcore that'll look just as good and waaay cheaper. For those who pledge, enjoy.

I have a 3d printer (and have been printing a lot lately) - and I'm still backing this because:

- I don't have to wait for 24+ hours to have a house ready

- I don't have to paint the Battlesystem houses

- I can put those Battlesystem houses together in variant ways

- I don't need a whole cupboard to store them

But yes, the fact that shipping to Germany should not cost an arm and a leg is important, too.

Their last fantasy kickstarter was shipped to Canada by DHL, who charged me a $14 handling fee plus GST and PST.  It has been said on these forums that a previous scifi KS was fulfilled in Canada via Snakes and Lattes, thus avoiding such charges.  But Battle Systems make no such claims or promises here.

Agreed that the value isn't there yet -- at least not for Canada.  if they add more buildings to the stretch goals that might change.

quality of components: I have nothing to criticize there.

ease of assembly: I have the Fantasy "dungeon" terrain and yeah, it requires some planning in advance. Putting it together then is - depending on the intended size - not THAT time-consuming. I think because those houses have easier layouts than a dungeon, it will even be quicker to assemble the village.
