Anyone else think of Princess Bride when reading that title?

Buttercup: What about the CoUS's?

Wesley: Calamari of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist...

Beautiful work. Any chance we could get a normal size comparison pic next to a human-size mini?

It looks wonderful!

I like how it has drab colors overall, but then some brilliant surprises - like when that gaping maw is turned towards you. And the glowing eyes.

The shipwreck looks suitably algae-covered and slimy.

I imagine that will be a fun one on your gaming table.

Thanks!  I'll see if I can do a scale picture... the hard thing with this beastie is that all the flailing tentacles make it hard to get the camera to focus on the right places :-)

That base is really spectacular - perfect for the giant calamri ring doner - nice shading on the tentacles and eye - dramatic piece!

Great work.  I love the color variation on the tentacles as they approach the gaping maw.

Very cool. You blending and transitions are great.

Thanks!  For some reason getting the transitions to blend was really hard with the tentacles, so I'm glad it turned out the way it did.  Other blending (like on the body) was straightforward.  At first I wondered if I hadn't cleaned them properly and soap or something was reacting to some of the paint but not others.  Very weird, albeit fun.  :-)

Oooo, I love how it turned out and I especially love the fact that you painted it.  Just in case, say, a ship full of adventurers happens to encounter some large sea beasts.  ::D:

The prospect of "some" large sea beasts has me slightly apprehensive here... ;-)
